Deciding Between ZR2 and Trail Boss LT - Help

Just cuz I'm a curious cat and I'm down to 3 lives. Did you ask the bros on the TB Forum what truck you should get?
Haha actually no I did not. I understood a lot of the differences from research and YouTube videos so I already believed the ZR2 was the better purchase. I thought it would be helpful to get owners experience on if they believed the added features were worth the jump.

Glad I did as a few owned both the TB and ZR2 and said the ZR2 was way better.

Happy to be apart of the forum. Now I just need to lock up a deal!

👍 😎

There is no comparison, the ZR2 is a top performing truck on and off road. 6.2L for performance and diesel for fuel mileage.

The stitching can be dyed a different color. I did mine red. If you like dark colors a charcoal grey or black would be easy.

GM and reliability cannot be used in the same sentence. In 35 years of owning Chevy's, I've never been to the dealer as much with the 22, 23, and 24 I own. Probably not much better down the street, unless you step into a Honda dealer. So go ahead and jump in cause it's a fun truck, but expect some headaches.
AXE I saw the thread where you tackled the stitching, Looks great and thanks for Tips! By chance do you have an overall shot of the interior, not like a close up, I am trying to get a feel of how the red stitching feels. I appreciate it!

@AXE Maybe these three shots for a good comparison.

If its not too much trouble of course lol.

It doesn't really show well in a picture if you're not up close. The red is a deeper color inside the truck cause the sun isn't fading it out like those pictures.

The one drawback I've found is that the red on the door panels tend to rub off and looks a bit orange until you touch it up. I believe that thread has wax on it to protect it from getting dirty when your legs and hands touch it. Therefore it has a harder time keeping the red dye. Center console may also have that but not as bad. If you do red, plan to touch it up on occasion in a couple spots.

If I was doing it again, I might just go with a medium gray or darker color. Might end up doing that in my 2500HD now.

Thanks Axe, I might just do that to be safe, a charcoal grey or something. I appreciate the response!

Thanks for this insight. Defiantly going to check out that thread as that might just take care of my main concern.
The yellow stitching was a particular concern for me, but when you see it in person, it's not nearly as obnoxious as it appears in pictures or videos and as @ZR2BIZON pointed out, the black and gray contrast grows on you - and fairly quick.

Just to help reinforce your decision, you can generally get better discounts on the ZR2, due to the premium sticker price scaring away a lot of buyers; the Trail Boss is what most aim for when considering moderate offroad vehicles, so there's almost always someone looking to buy them. Just be sure to explore all your options with cars.com and depending on your location and schedule, don't be afraid to snag a cheap flight to pick one up a few states over. Almost all my purchases have been from locations multiple hours or even days away and for a significantly better price than my local dealers.

Did anyone do the stitching in the bright glacier blue color? I’d like to see pictures that if someone did
