I had something happen twice to me on a recent trip and I’m trying to figure out what I’m dealing with so bear with me as I’ll try to be as detailed as possible.

Question: what warnings can cause an audible tone and a message (that flashed too fast to read) in the DIC center screen with no other warning lights or messages? Twice.

Situation: driving at interstate speed with cruise set to 79mph.

All gauges at normal levels
Tire pressure normal levels
Fuel at half tank and then 3/4 tank at second occurrence
Occurred again after fuel stop and engine shutoff
Happened around 300 miles into the trip and then around 500 miles. Hasn’t happened since.
Onstar diagnostic showed all green when called.
Both times I had been on the road at least an hour from start up
Nothing looked amiss which really concerns me but I’m probably being paranoid.

Thanks in advance

There are a lot of possibilities! One thing i will say is I've had a few messages pop up and dealer couldn't not find any issue. They just shrugged and said "software". The codes never came back.

You can get a relatively inexpensive OBD II code reader on Amazon or EBAY. They read any diagnostic codes stores in the computer and even if they aren't active.

Also if you do get a code while on the road thatbshuts you down, you may be able to clear it and keep going to get home. I've done that with a diesel emissions code before and got home and then to the dealer for a fix.

Otherwise run it into you dealer and see if they find any stored codes.
