Great Job/I did the Same no confidence in the 6.2 engine even after it was replace /Dumped it and also got a new 2024 bison 3.0 ZR2 Happy so far 7200 miles

Oh yea! I know I've only got 2,500 miles on mine but so far so good.
Update on my 24: See attached for the two main pages on my repair order... They basically said the failure was top down - broken valve spring led to dropped valve led to piston scoring led to spun rod bearing. My hunch (based on known 6.2 issues) is the other way round - bottom up failure. They had the truck six weeks and change to fix it.
Got the truck back three days ago and coolant temps would max out after three minutes or so in operation (while oil temps remained fine). Took it back this morning. Diagnosis was air in the coolant system which was purged and refilled. Seemed OK on the 10 miles home - we'll see...

My 22 ZR2 with the 6.2L V8 was just at the dealer for about 5 days.
2 weeks ago on my way home I came to a stop at the end of an exit ramp and my truck almost stalled. Managed to keep it running and got it home with no problems. Went to start it the next morning and, to no surprise, it wouldn't start. Immediately I thought the worst. Thought I was having the same lifter problems that I had on my 2015 5.3L Silverado that needed the engine replaced. Next day I got it to start and, although it ran like shit, I got it to the dealer. Told them I needed a loaner, cause I assumed the motor was gonna need replaced and they were gonna have my truck for quite a long time. They told my I was out of luck and they didn't have a loaner for me. Well, I was already mad and at that moment I lost my shit and raised hell in the middle of the service department and insisted they rent a vehicle for me. The next day I got a call from our local Hertz Rental service rep and they delivered an almost new Chevy Equinox with only 1500 miles to my house.
Long story short, it ended up being a bad injector, not the lifters like I thought. My service advisor had 3 injectors replaced, under warranty, of course, and no cost to me for the service or the car rental.

The Chevrolet app is now showing it. It says they will inspect the engine and replace it if deemed necessary, otherwise they are going to replace the oil with a higher viscosity oil, replace the dip stick and filler cap and give us an insert for the owners manual stating the new oil viscosity.

Your right, it's not the dip stick, it's the oil, filter, oil cap and the new insert for the owners manual.

Just making sure I didn’t miss something lol. I may go ahead and swap out my oil and get the 0W40 since I’m due for a change. Mobil1 super car is the only one we can use correct?

I was gonna change my oil next weekend. But now, due to the recall, I'm just gonna make an appointment at the dealer for the recall and let them change the oil for me. Free of charge, of course!

Yep, they can't do it without parts and authorization to get paid by GM.

Thats what the dealer is replacing the oil with after the inspection. I guess to play it safe, it wouldn't be a bad idea to use Mobil 1 Super Car.
Wow! After looking at the price of Mobil 1 S/C, I'm already missing using my tried and true Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.

My theory is I’ll go ahead with my oil change but with the 0W40 oil. When it’s time for the change again, if they have what they need for the recall, I’ll get my free one then lol. It suck’s though that there is only one approved oil. You’d think some of the others would have the license also.
