2024 2500 duramax trouble code

Hello all,

Vehicle has 262 miles.
Drove from tint shop and noticed truck felt sluggish. Got home about 15 miles away. Got out and idle went really high. Figured it was doing a regen. Got back in to park in garage and noticed a CEL. Onstar diag showed P2482

Dealers service cannot see it till next week.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Might need a new sensor. However, there are plenty of software glitches. Mine had a DEF code when new, but went away next time I started it up. Dealer couldn't find anything wrong. You could pull the negative battery terminal and reset. Otherwise, use your OBD II scanner to clear the code and see if it comes back.

Thank you for the reply. Ok I will clear the code and see if it comes back. And do a few drive cycles. I did also notice that the fan seems to be running a bit high for the temperature outside when taking off and the truck is in 1st. Seems to do it until I get to 3rd gear.

No but it seems like a lot of electrical
Issues can be resolved by cycling power hence the comment about making it easier to disconnect the negative terminal.

LOL it's the truth! Should have a disconnect switch installed in line.

I thought my fan was running harder than in should some times. Seemed loud sometimes when acceleration at so lights. Haven't noticed it as much recently.

I cleared the code by disconnecting the batteries. Hasn't came back in a few drive cycles and another 120 miles. Just seems in 1st gear fan is running extremely high. 1st is wanting to Rev really high before shifting. Just seems weird to me. It's at 330ish miles now.

I’m not expert but have had five duramax / Allison combo trucks, driven them all combined 700k+ miles and the ones I’ve own, the transmissions “learn” for a decent number of miles out of the gate. In transparency, I’ve had 5 and six speeds, not the new HD ten but would assume it behaves similarly and learns for a period of time. I would drive it in varied conditions (highway, city, etc) and really let it settle in before getting too worried about certain shift points feeling abnormal (without any type of codes)

Mine sounds like it holds 1st (or 2nd, not sure what gear it actually starts off in when in Drive and normal/non-tow mode) longer than normal first thing in the mornings, maybe other times too but that’s when I notice it. I can’t really feel it, just hear it. Could be the fan I guess. I’ll pay more attention to the rpm’s, etc, tomorrow.

I cannot remember 100% if my truck was doing this when I first purchased it. But when I first start it, the fan is running so high it's almost louder then the diesel engine itself. It does that honestly quite often during the day too. Just seems like somethings off. I had another duramax a while back. Same engine and transmission and it did not seem to act this way. Also my work truck is a new 24 duramax and it also does not do this. I really hate taking my truck to the dealership if not needed.

Run it in manual and see if you hear the noise. I think its the fan, I know what your saying.

Ok thank you for your input. Please let me know what you notice. I have noticed mine is doing it all the time now. Like I can barely hear the diesel engine when driving. I'm still debating on taking mine into the dealership.

Paid more attention to the rpm’s vs the noise this morning leaving the house. Definitely the fan, as the transmission was shifting normally per the rpms.
