What have you done to your Silverado ZR2 this week? 🛠️

im gonna install my caliper covers this weekend.View attachment 4054
I looked these up on Amazon and I get the message that they don’t fit my vehicle. The top line information says they fit 2019-2023 Silverado. I guess I can get them and return if they don’t fit. Where did you buy these?

i bought the gm accessory. you can get them cheaper from ebay or the manufacturer i think. they fit perfect and control brake dust keeping rims clean. if you use the FAQ or search on the forum, a bunch of us got them. you can also get ZR2 engraved as a special order. good luck.

MGP is the manufacturer.

Got the stock wheels swapped out for the 18” rock trix with -12 offset today. Also installed a stubby antenna over the weekend.
🤙
That’s the offset that GM should have done, nice job. I like the splash effects, reminds me of the 80’s when that was a trend with lowered trucks. Looks good, did you have a local shop design the splash?

I actually found the vinyl decal/wrap on Etsy came from somewhere in Europe, lol!! I applied it myself. I’ve had trouble trying to find large decals on online stores/big name manufacturers. Here the link for the one I used, they have lots more. I ordered two of the same decal in different colors and staggered / modified to get the shadow-outline effect.

And some previous Chevy cars & vinyl wrapped toys of mine…

Going to look like a Bandit edition when you are done.👍
Since you dubbed it “Bandit” these gold decals came in the other day, I put them on top of some flat black vinyl. Figure that help contrast on the gloss black paint and tie in with the whole theme. I’m thinking one on the tailgate and one on each front fender.

Let's see what you have done with your Silverado ZR2!
Well I have 6K miles on my ZR2 and it has smoothed out with road force balancing done at the shop. One other thing I have found with my truck is that towing a trailer is not good. I know these trucks are limited because of the tires and lift, but I know my 6.2 Trail Boss was much more aggressive when towing. The issue I am talking about is when you come to a hill, the rear end feels bouncy or rough and I cannot figure out why. Is it the shocks they use or is it something else that I am not aware of. After all it is a truck and I should be able to tow and with the 6.2 I should be able to rip the hitch off.

Was it drooping? May want to consider air bags.

These shocks are soft, which is why it rides so well in variable terrain. Air bags will level.and firm the ride for towing. You can get them for $500 if you don't have a need for an on board compressor and tow infrequently.

Added an Overland rack and got some Rhino traction boards for the sandy desert trails. I bought two 165w LED 30" light bars to put on the rack (one front/one back and maybe? 2 spotters for the sides) to be installed this week, which stands 22.5" from the rails, so it clears the camera nicely. Next project will be a winch and bumper

Sweet.
I've been in Colorado since July. I go out every weekend.
I Have the Yakima rack with a Smitty built XL rooftop tent.
I also have the Decked bed vault two drawer system. I just put on a new set of Toyo 295-70-18 mud terrains. No lift or leveling kit. I've put hundreds of miles in the backcountry and ATV trails. I just don't see a need for it. Next is a 270 awning. I currently have 28,000 miles on my ZR2.

Very Nice! We chose to go with the ground tent. We have a gazelle T4 hub. I love the rack because it adds so much more storage capabilities. Those deck systems are awesome! I absolutely love mine! I just rounded 14,000 mi on mine. I've scraped the bottom a few times and put a couple dings on my rock sliders, but that's what they're there for. I've never gotten stuck and I'm extremely happy with the way the truck performs.
