What have you done to your Silverado ZR2 this week? 🛠️

Well I ordered new tires and 1.5” wheel spacers all around. Tires I went with falken wildpeak 4w in oem size. Spacers went with Bora since I’ve had them before and are awesome and made in USA. I stayed with stock size tires because I was afraid of rubbing

Don’t be scared, there’s nothing some trimming can’t fix

But if you do get adventurous the 285/70r18 is only slightly larger, still 3-ply sidewall, and C-rated for that smooth stock ride.

Installed the Peak 2.25” lift, Peak sway bar drop brackets and Dirt King upper control arms.

Tailpipe cover/extension. Most high performance $35 I ever spent on Amazon....I called Gale Banks, and he said this here sumbitch will make another 110ft/lbs of torque.

On a serious note: I used one of these before and the finish lasted the whole two years I had it on the truck, so I got another. Yes...It really was $35.

No. I did paint it though, so if you look up in it it's not as apparent. I also took the heat shield down (two bolts) and painted it, as well as painting the pipe up to the bend. It cleans up the side view a bunch.

@AXE can give you a link to a unit that is 3" longer than this one, and a bit more expensive. He lives in the high rent district, not down here with us poors.

Last pic is of the vinyl wrap I did that resembles one I saw on a Zr2 Jackal. Really like the way it looked with the black and gold. I previously had the matte black and gold splash wrap we named here “bandit”

I reinstalled/modified the front wheel well liners they’re not 100% perfect but protects the engine bay the same. For the rear I just painted everything a satin black to clean up the look with the guards removed.

I did not have to remove the tailgate or rear bumper to install. I did this myself a one man show. Doesn’t take many tools. Total cost of kit and install around $3,200. I may not have custom wheel well liners but I didn’t spend 15-20k for it either. In time I may look into fabricating my own. This could be done in one day or over a weekend easily.

Also I did not relocate the factory gas filler it is still easily accessible for pumping gas and location still works with kit. It’s inset about 1-1.5” from the opening.

Im happy with it! I do plan on adding some vinyl to it again to blend the carbon fiber panels in with the rest of the truck better.

Not really, maybe a tad stiffer. But not anything extreme. I had the Peak 2.25” on my previous ZR2 with Cognito ball joint UCA. I really like the Dirt King UCA. They are the only ones I’ve come across that put an insert in for bolting the ABS brake lines back on the UCA. Everyone else uses zip-ties.

With the spacers, they might still rub at full lock. I have 2 inch spacers with stock tires and they rub a little bit at full lock. Maybe the 1.5 inch won't rub.

I have mixed feelings about this. The body kit seems like a killer idea in concept, but it's poorly executed (not by you). Those parts just don't seem like they fit too well....Maybe that's the look it's supposed to have, I dunno. See pic below....I guess I just expect better fitment for what those things cost. I may be just unreasonable, or I'm looking at this wrong...But this project screams "high dollar customization" but doesn't deliver on that. Enlighten me...What am I missing?

I think it’s a combination of quality and install. The product is handmade per order so ther will be and are some minor flaws. (I’m still very happy with it, yes it not a factory exact fit) On the install side I’m not a body shop but a pretty handy DIY guy and limited to tools in my garage and time. Some of the gaps and whatnot could be improved and I could go back and make minor adjustments.

Keep in mind I didn’t remove anything to do this aside from the taillights for obvious reasons. I imagine if I had the means and time to do a full bed off install, etc. it could be better. This truck is my daily driver so I could t have it down for an extended period.

Lastly, I could take some better pictures at different angles which may also play into it part of it.

If anyone has question or want pics of something specific let me know.

I'm not crazy about the no paint, carbon fiber/black combination. Other than that, it's not too bad. Fitment could be a bit better, but maybe that can be adjusted to a better fit.

I agree with you about the hard contrast between the black and carbon fiber. In time I plan on duplicating what I previously did on the bedside. Also planning on doing it to the front fenders. I’m thinking gloss black /gold/ grey or CF / flat black, tying the trucks other details and rims back into it.

Nothing major. The wife got a Cricut machine for Christmas so she made me a decal for the rear window. She also made one for her Jeep. I think she did great for her first time.
