OK, that should be it for my fancy wordsmithing. 😆

I walked into a distant Chevy dealer and a 2024 Silverado ZR2 Duramax followed me home! They demanded a bunch of cash and the keys to my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, however. And after weeping uncontrollably in the parking lot over the loss of my beloved Jeep (for .5 seconds), I signed a bunch of papers and escaped like the bandit I am! The only thing slowing me down was the damn traction control, because…well, 495 lb-ft of torque and such!

Now it should be noted, this is a four-letter word truck! That’s right. I bought … used! <insert gasp here>

Original owner bought the truck in June, put 2600 miles on it, towed with it once, added a leveling kit and rear airbags, then promptly traded the truck in for a 2500 ZR2. So, my gain! When they drove the truck around and I saw it for the first time, my knees went weak! OMG, but she’s pretty!

I’ve had several friends asking me if I plan to do with my new truck that I did with my previous Jeep, and the answer is YES!

That Jeep saw a LOT of off-roading and camping. In fact, I started a channel to keep track of all our trip videos. I have no followers, but that’s fine. Not looking to make money, just capture the trips and share. https://youtube.com/@dirtsandwich

So…the new air pump arrives tomorrow, new soft shackles as well. The new bed mat arrives Thursday as well as the new Kodiak Canvas truck bed tent. New bed mattress arrived yesterday, but cots and gear are already here. I need to wire in the EcoFlow Alternator Charger that’s been waiting for this truck for months now so I can charge our 3,000 WH of power on the fly.

I need a bunch of new things to hold cameras and phones for recording.

Heck, the tent may end up temporary since the original plan was for a Topo Toppers Rincon camper/topper. I may have accidentally spent that money on THIS truck…and, if I did…I have ZERO regrets! LOL

Bottom line: lockers shall be locked!

Until then, I continue to be impressed with every drive. The powertrain and truck are way, way better than I expected. Google Auto is way, way worse than I thought any manufacturer would ever release…lol

A week in…enthralled with this truck! And grateful to have found this community. 🙏

Welcome!

I traded in my 2022 Beach for the ZR2 myself. Granted mine had 21k on it vs 2600 and it's a 22 lol.

Nicely done, let us know what tent setup you come up with. I’m thinking the alright we rack system, then something on top of that
Welcome

Welcome
I’m getting the Kodiak Canvas truck tent system this week (tomorrow or Thursday, it arrives). Encloses the bed with the tailgate down. 5 feet of standing height when deployed. Some folks say it takes 30 minutes to set up, others claim 5 minutes. I figure it’s like anything - faster with practice.

I have this tent I transfered over. We were at lake McConaughey for the 4th and a storm rolled in. The floor tents got hammered and wet inside but we were 100% dry

Gasp in Espanish.

Right truck, wrong color, wrong engine.

But welcome amigo. Atleast you aren't getting ducked any moar
I appreciate the inclusion despite my obvious errors! 😉 I’ll have time to ponder my choices as I wait for you at gas pumps on some future adventure. 😁 And kidding aside, while ground tenting is a great option, once you go up, you never go back! 👍👍

I see you too are a brotheran from our great state of CO. Let me know if you would like to meet up for some wheeling good sir. My noble steed grazes on subpar greens near DIA and yearns of the elevated landscape of the foothills.

So let me know if you want to go offroading Amigo

Alas, that may take some time. I reside in Ventura County, within the state of California! Thus, while driving to Colorado is ON my list of things to do in 2025, we’ll need to actually do some form of planning. 🙂

We love the altitudes and attitudes sprinkled around CO! ❤️

Sunny beaches. I thought from the ventura plains contained within our great state. I shall keep an eye open for a towtruck with a Silver steed and a belly full of green oil and you too will be able to sight see on top of said towtruck once I tell the driver to follow me through an easy trail.

Heeyah!!
