As the title says, traded my 2022 F150 Tremor for a ZR2 2500.

Here are a few reasons why -

Payload on the F150 was brutal at 1523. By the time I loaded up my trailer, side by side, gear, coolers, passengers, fuel tanks, I was overloaded. 2900 on the HD leaves a ton of room. I can bring up almost a cord of season maple and probably be within load. The F150 does not want to stay in control on dirt roads and gravel. My 5.7 Tundra was much better handling than the F150. I'm constantly sliding out and its just not enjoyable. We go up to our remote cabin every weekend, which is about 2 hours of driving up logging roads, which have everything from washboards and large rocks. I also tow a couple snow machines in the winter up to this cabin. Test drove the Diesel and fell in love with the responsiveness right away. The 3.5 in the F150 is very laggy? I don't know how the power is going to come, especially when climbing up steeper graded gravel roads.

I'll post up some pictures once I get the truck.

welcome.

You are going to LOVE the way the shocks work on the wash board roads! They are great on the highway as well. I came from a 2022 F250 Tremor.
I was actually looking at the F250 Tremor and the ZR2. Highly preferred the ZR2. I didn't get a chance to test drive the ZR2 off the road, so really looking forward to trying it out. Seems like an overall better package, as I would have had to upgrade those terrible stock shocks on the Tremor.

You made the right call! I get better mileage, and the ride is not even comparable.

Do you have any experience with 1/2 tons on washboard dirt roads? I'm worried the 3/4 ton is going to be much rougher than the F150...

No, I do not. The 1/2 ton is not what I use.

Yes, I look at the F250 Tremor as well and preferred the ZR2 HD it was more responsive and felt closer to a daily driver than the F250. I am very happy with it so far

All very solid reasons to go with the 2500 HD. Have fun with your new ride.

I have a 1500 and a 2500HD ZR2. The 1500 rides considerably better than the 2500HD, but you'll be hard pressed to find a stock 2500HD that rides as well.

I can't even get my dash to rattle on washboard roads on my 1500. 2500HD has some more vibration, but it has to be worked harder to get the suspension to respond. It has
torsion bars and heavy leaf springs cause it weighs 8500 lbs and built for towing heavy. It's counterintuitive, but sometimes you have to hit it harder to smooth out the ride. You can also drop some air pressure in your tires.
