I have a 2024 ZR2 and have had it in 4 times due to the radio volume going up and down on its own. They changed the radio and gateway module but it has not fixed it. I recently found if I turn off my iPhone the problems go away. I also believe it is happening more when I am around cell towers, I have an iPhone 13, has anyone else had this issue?

Not yet, I got my 24 Bison about a month ago. Had issues with my old TB where the buttons on the steering wheel didn’t work. I just used the volume knob and didn’t worry about it.

Welcome to the world of GM doesnt care about your Carplay. I have a dispute going on with them currently with mine. Hate that it sounds so bad.

Hi,

I bought a 2024 ZR2 2500HD Bison in May and have radio issues. About once a month approximately, when started, the radio seems as it's muted. Nothing I can do to have volume. The bar volume indicator goes up/down but no sound. I turn the truck off and back on no change, but leave it off over night and it's back to normal. Took it in for service and firmware update when the volume was off and dealer said maybe the update will correct, but did not. I am currently waiting for it to happen again during hours when the dealer is open and taking it back.

I have a 24 Silverado - same issue. Have tried rebooting the system in safe mode, no change. I have tried rebooting in safe mode, turning off, waiting until all electrical is shut down (about 2 minutes) restarting, no change. have not tried opening door, closing door and/or waiting 10 minutes.

Every time this has happened (4 since November), shutting off and when I come back (30 minutes - overnight) it works just fine.

At my first service in a couple months, I'll talk to the dealer about it.

Seems like they don’t care about anything other than getting your $$.
Sucks that it’s not at the dealer level. It’s a software problem that they don’t have enough complaints on to post a recall. I took it to my local stereo shop and they mentioned they’ve had DOZENS of new truck owners coming in. Stereo shop doesn’t want to touch the infotainment due to voiding warranty, they said they could add an amp and woofer to give it better sounds but that’s all they can do without the void. It’s so lame.

I heard from GM today and they said to wait till they push a new update to the truck to see if it fixes it. I ask what if it us a year and she stated you have to wait, $80K and no fix, this can’t be.

If you buy two more, it'll run you $240k and you'll never know what you get from the GM electronics grab bag!

I love how the newer owners have so much faith in the next GM software “fix”. I got an update in Q4 of ‘23 that was supposed to fix the audio drops. It did for about 3 weeks then they returned. It’s been too long, GM is not or cannot fix their garbage. Last year, some members reported new problems after applying an update that was more recent than the one I got in Q4 of ‘23. I personally don’t want to drop $5K to $10K on killer audio that these ZR2s deserve because I won’t keep this turd 1 day past warranty. Having fun driving hard and wondering when it’s my time to post an engine failure story.
