Here's a good video of a recent test of diesel fuel additives. Good to see the performance and repeatability of the Opti-Lube XPD additive from independent tests done years ago. I still run Opti-Lube XL in my 24 2500HD Duramax primarily for lubrication benefits.

I've ran Opti-Lube XPD and XL in a 2015 2500HD Duramax for 11.5 years and 100k miles. My boy has driven it the last couple years. Still runs great and never had injectors out of balance or spec. I run a lift pump too with +8 at the test port.

I had to replace a DEF temp sensor, 9th injector, and nox sensor, which is common in those rigs.

Would have liked to seen the Opti-Lube XL, which is primarily for lubrication and why I use it to protect the CP4. Cost is not a factor to me cause I'm not a high mileage user.

Super interesting, was shocked by Stanadyne results actuality. I watched something similar on Project Farm (if memory serves it wasn’t as scientific) I’ve used HotShots for years.

On my ‘16, I just bit the bullet and did the CP3 conversion. May be switching to the OptiLube across my trucks. Thanks for posting.

I dont recall Stanadyne performing that well for lubrication in other tests, but I know a lot of people use it. I used Diesel Kleen, Sea Foam and 2 stroke oil for a while, but when the test came out I switched to XPD. Still run a can of Sea Foam now and again.

At the farm, we used Essential Lube in everything. It worked great and we'd get it in a 35 gallon drum and treat everything gas or diesel. They don't offer it anymore, but they offer a new product but it's hard to get.

If you see some of the comments, one guy tore down a high mileage CP4 pump and it looked great and they were using an addictive that some speculated was XPD.

Late model trucks have a lift pump, so that should help with the fuel pump working less.

Very interesting, I have used a lot of Stanadyne in the past and I trusted there reputation alone, until I found Optilube, never an issue with the XPD, and it’s a case of you get what you pay for here.
Nice find

Yeah, I had an injector stick on an 05 LLY on a hunting trip in SoDak one year. Buddy dumped a quart of no-ash 2 cycle oil and in 10 minutes it was running smooth as butter. I still run a half quart through my non-DPF trucks once a month for good measure. 🤠

I am using Hot Shot secret EDT+ winter currently, but now I’m thinking about switching to XPD products. I found a few reviews/videos that had good things to say about HSS, so I’m still thinking. I guess something is better than nothing
