I have a 2024 ZR2 Silverado and installed a Cosa Sport / 3.0 in Cat-Back DRE Twin 4.0 in exhaust. I left the exhaust control module plugged in and zip tied it the the frame. I have a check engine light that will not clear. Has anyone bypassed this code or had the truck recoded? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Are the wires to the exhaust valve still connected?

Yes, all the wires are still hooked up. I also tried it without booking the module back up and it still through the fault codes (check engine light).

Hello,

I have a friend with a 24 ZR2 Bison that is having the same issue. He has a Borla Attack without the "Active Exhaust" and he did the same thing you did with the Exhaust Control Module.

His truck constantly gives a check engine light.

I have a 25 ZR2 with the GM Borla exhaust installed from the dealer. The dealer told me they "deleted" the Active Exhaust. I have not yet been underneath the truck to see what that looks like. My truck no longer has the active mode but runs fine and does not give any check engine lights.

In addition, we also purchased the Carbyte product to disable the AFM\DFM and Auto Start\Stop. This product works great!

For his truck, the Carbyte removed the the Check Engine light for almost a week. Then it reappeared for a short time and went off again. It also showed that the CEL was on because of miss fires... We are assuming this is from going from 8 to 4 mode but don't know if this is related to the his exhaust.

There is also information from AWE (Pg. 10, step 14) about using the supplied "valve sim" (Part # 1310-11040) to stop any CEL's.
He has not yet gotten this part number to test it.

For sure this is a mystery as to why (how) GM disables this and Borla (and others) cannot.

More to come.

Update. I called Borla, they say their "Valve Simulator" is coming out Mid December.

Spoke to Borla yesterday. They now offer the fix but you have to call them to get it.
They offer a Y-Pipe with a valve simulator.

Here is the instruction manual for new installs. Check Pg. 6.

So you no longer have sort mode? On my 24 sport mode opens the exhaust and makes shift points noticeably more aggressive. The more I drive it the more aggressive the shift points seem to be getting. Mainly holding hears longer.

You no longer have different exhaust sounds in different modes. Its just open. (y)
it does not change any of the other features with the modes.

When I go to sport mode on my 24 it 100% changes the transmission mapping. Along with opening an exhaust valve I’m guessing.

Now run in tow/haul and bang some shifts with the paddles. Try not to let the rpms to drop below 3500 and run it up to 5900 before you shift. Mine does wheelies!
