Bourbon Talk

No judgement. Not seen peerless double oak. We are having some widow Jane tonight. Pretty tasty stuff. Favorite rye?

Those two right there. Sazerac dollar for dollar is in my opinion one of the best rye. Willet Rye, if you can find it should be in any rye lovers stables.

I’ve been looking for that Weller12
Good on ya

I also have been looking for a bottle of that!

This one has been in my stash for a while now, it’s a personal special occasion for me so I’m taking in some self love.

Here are the bottles I picked up tonight. Not sure which one to open. Maybe……BOTH 😎
Penelope is solid, one of my son’s favorites. Let us know how Lux is, been curious.

I’m jealous not going to lie. I haven’t seen that bottle but once and couldn’t get my hands on it. I’m really excited to try this Lux. I’ve had some before, really tasty but not this one. I’m not usually a fan of a finished bourbon but it looked good and at 112 proof it was worth a shot. The other market I wanna break into is Garrison Brothers. It seems like all of their stuff is really expensive so I’m not 100% sure where to start.

Personally, and I only say this because everyone is different, Garrison is overpriced for what it is. Great juice, better per dollar in the world of Texas distilleries.

I figured they maybe REALLY liked their product. It wouldn’t hurt to have an intro bottle but I’m sure I’ll go for it one day.

I do recommend you having a bottle in your stash without a doubt, but yea they’re real proud. Kinda like the guy on Facebook marketplace saying “ no lowballs, i know what i got”

Hahahah true. I haven’t really met a bourbon/whiskey that I didn’t like yet. I’ll make a smoked old fashioned with one that is not my favorite neat.

I was thinking about this thread earlier today. Glad you guys made some posts. I'm nursing a damn cold and congestion so I have to wuss out.

I did think of another good rye I've tried. It is from Templeton and decent for sipping, but good in a Manhattan too.

Here's one of the Templeton bottles along with some others I've repurposed on my roading bench. They work well holding my bullets and look good too!

I've tried a couple of bottles of Garrison Brothers. I love their bottles and packaging. I bought some high proof and it was a little bit hot, but good over ice!
