Active Exhaust

Has anyone compared it to a Borla S Type in person? I ordered a 25 and my sales guy was telling me sport mode is at least as loud as an S Type.

I have a 25 with active exhaust and it sounds good but does not have the shotgun start like the Borla S on my 2022.

I have a 2025 ZR2 with the GM Borla, In my opinion it's a HUGE difference. The Sport mode to me was no comparison.
On a cold start, its sounds just a good as my ZL1 with a Borla S-Type.
It does calm down after it warms up but it has a great sound. I am extremely happy with it.

FYI - Once you install the Borla, the Mode no longer changes the exhaust sound. It's wide open all the time.

That's the problem with the active exhaust. If you want to piss your neighbors off in the morning you have to change to sport mode as soon as you start up else its bloody quiet. Then when you want to run in tow haul mode to get decent shifts, no active exhaust. Active sounds way better than not, but its still quieter than the Flowmaster American Thunder on my old 5.3

Why take it out of sport mode to begin with?

Wait What .... Mine doesn't remember what mode I had selected after I stop and restart. It always starts in Normal mode. Am I doing something wrong is it just another thing they deleted when converting for the Australian market?

They might have. I leave mine on and when I start it up has that even louder sound, might wake up a few people.

Mine stays in Sport mode until I turn it to another mode.

I dont have sport mode, when I start it I sit in the drivers seat close my eyes and go "Vrrrrrmmvrmmmmvrmmm" one day the law of attraction will slap an S-type under my bovine.

I keep mine in sport mode all the time. Not for the sound, the driving experience is just better. The shifts are better and the fuel economy is very close to normal. I do keep my Stop/Start disabled and keep it in V8 mode all the time. I use a Carbyte to do this.

It probably has something to do with the steering wheel being on the wrong side of the truck 😂

I just received my 2025 ZR2 6.2 and I am glad I didn't order a muffler delete before getting the car, I leave it in sport mode and the cold, or even warm starts rumble!!!, today I went under the car to see what was going on and found out that the whole exhaust system after the first visible cat, is completely different from what I have seen in YouTube, the muffler is closer to the rear of the vehicle and two separate pipes come out of it, one of them has a part that resembles the flapper that used to be before the muffler in earlier models, I'll add some images. I haven't heard borla or muffler deletes, the ZR2 isn't very common in my country, but sport mode sounds bad ass!
