Bourbon Talk

Many of the Buffalo Trace choices are the go to.
Never had a Japanese whisky
Give it a go. You may be surprised. I also like the Buffalo trace distillery. Blantons, Stagg, Eh Taylor! Great juice. I use eagle rare to make homemade bottles of vanilla extract. Very versatile and extremely drinkable.

A few years ago I got this Old Forester gift set for Christmas. It was a great way to test some Bourbon out. Of course, I forgot which one i liked the best, but believe it was the 1910.

Old Forester 1910 and Knob Creek 9yr single barrel are my two go-to’s that are readily available. Old Forester 1920 is also good if you prefer the higher proof.

Received the Still Austin BiB Blue Corn for Christmas and have been impressed with it but it’s a seasonal release. Tried their cask strength and liked that as well.

I've sampled a few bottles of the Blackened Whisky that is by members of the band Metallica in conjunction with some well known distillers. It's a Bourbon base with a blend of rye and other hand selected whiskies. It's aged blasting selected tracks of Metallic tunes into the barrels, which is part of the marketing gimmick and you can look up the tracks used for each bottle.

I'd say it's more like a Canadian blend, but it's decent Whisky for $30 bottle. They have some new premium blends that go for up to $115 bottle but I've never tried them.
