What’s your favorite daily?

What’s your favorite shelf bottle?

It’s essential that Chevy owners discuss this topic. It’s a bourbon thing!

Crown Royal
Off to a good start! I have recently discovered the Penelope Line. Architect is my go to bottle for that with Toasted barrel and barrel strength not far behind. Very smooth sipping.

Bourbon or whiskey in general?

If it’s a bourbon, my favorite is Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond neck and neck with Peerless Single Barrel. Bourbon as a daily drinker, Weller is a solid go to.

Whiskey as a daily drinker, I would say Michter’s Sour Mash. For some reason it’s the one out of my stash that I always go back to. Probably would constitute my favorite whiskey as well. Great price, solid pour.

Scotch… oh now this is a fun one. Laphroaig 18 hands down is my favorite, discontinued and off the marked for like 10 years and is now back. Ardbeg Uigeadail or Wee Beastie are common go to pours for me or Lagavulin 16 year.

I could spend all day on this list to be honest…

Bar pour… Woodford, preferably double oak…

Rye… Willett or Sazerac

Irish whiskey… Teeling Single Grain….

Japanese… Hibiki…

On and on and on…

Did I mention I like whiskey?

Bourbon, whiskey although very different are all welcome here. There aren’t make offerings that you can go wrong with. I just opened a 13 yr Old Fitzgerald. It’s excellent. I really like Heaven Hill in general. I haven’t found one I didn’t like yet.

I really enjoy Crown Royal Peach mixed with iced tea. I don't like or usually drink peach tea, but mixing some peach Crown with tea is a whole other thing. I also enjoy Buffalo Trace and Gentleman Jack.

I just bought a bottle of Buffalo Trace yesterday. Pretty good stuff especially for the price point.

Ha, ha.......I was kidding and thought you were gonna give me some shit for saying Crown, since it's not a Bourbon and a Canadian Whisky.

So I add my official Bourbon favorites that are my go to for various reasons. I like Buffalo Trace for sipping in a Glencairn and its the one I buy the most. If I want something with a little more bite with higher proof then I go between the Knob Creek and Four Rose Small Batch whiskys.

My favorite rye Bourbon is Bullleit and that is the only one that I prefer in my Manhattan drinks, as it has just the right amount of spice when mixed with the sweet vermouth and bitters.

I drink Crown if I know I am gonna have more than a few shots or with a beer like when I'm at Vegas on a 12 hour marathon. I can drink plenty of Crown and never get a hangover. I get a hangover after 4 shots of Bourbon so usually just sipping or one-two drinks.

Now that sounds like a great lineup. I am of the opinion that if it tastes good to you who the heck cares about the 1000 opinions that exist.

I've never been able to drink much scotch. I do sample some Johnny Walkers once in a while if others are pouring.

I like Jameson for my Irish coffees, occasionally Proper 12.

Yep, at some point, I can't tell the difference, as I'm not a connoisseur. I either like it or don't. There's so many choices it's hard to keep track. I've had $20 bottles I like better than a $50 bottle.

I like to mix one shot of peach, with two shots of Crown over the rocks, so it's not so sweet. Peach is the best flavored Whisky.

If you can find the Crown Royal seltzer in an 8 pack they started selling recently, give it a try. They are some great tasting packaged Whisky drinks. The peach is really good, so is the lemonade and mango, but the blackberry isn't my favorite. I like to add an extra splash of Crown and pour over ice for a quick refreshing drink.
