Yeah, it's not even bad on this forum. If you wanna know how bad it really is, get on Reddit cause it's one after the other Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, 5.3s, 6.2s. There's actually reason there's a motor shortage and it ain't cause there stacked up on the side of the road, it's cause there stacked at the dealer storage lot waiting.

Dave's Auto had this video posted a few weeks ago. Some interesting images of the carnage. He isn't seeing a beating problem, but possible a piston problem.

I see some GM techs in the comments saying it might be piston casting/wrist pin clips like the video shows, bad bearings, poor oiling, bad machining in blocks causing misaligned con rods, and left over casting materials like sand. No real consensus and all are plausible.

There are examples cited with 1-5 miles.......WTF.

Yeah, he's got some great videos and a hell of a shop and it highlights problems that can occur with every motor out there.

It takes some time to wade through the comments, but the techs have some good observations. There was one tech that said he's done 20 and another that said he does one every other week.

I've been watching his videos for a very long time. No BS and straight shooter. Not many high quality shops like him out there anymore
