Made the trek back.to North Dakota for some work and walleye fishing, this time in the 2500HD ZR2.

Took these pictures outside Las Vegas, New Mexico. Beautiful country where the plains meet the Rocky Mountains.

1686 miles at about 16 mpg running hard 70-85 mph. Ran in some wind through Wyoming at 87 mph. Could only get about 12-13 mpg then. Best run was coming through Montana into Dakota and I was hitting over 20 mpg following the Yellowstone River where is relatively flat for about 70 miles doing 70 mph. 70-72 mph is the sweet spot for mileage. You can still pull 18 mpg at 80 mph in ideal conditions.

Sat in traffic at a dead stop for 1.5 hours three times for an RV fire, an accident and road construction. I think without that is right about 16 mpg.

The truck ran through a lot of terrain and pavement variability. It rode incredibly well and is very comfortable for 10+ hour days. This thing handles so great, I am not sure how you'd make it any better. I couldn't believe how stable it was at 87 mph in that wind. Never fought it at all and it tracks perfectly down the road.

I had quite a bit of gear, so probably rolling over 9k lbs.

The ol man picked up this new Bobcat S770 skid steer. We replaced a 2008 S220 I had bought in Phoenix slightly used for $20k. Sold it 12 years later for the same $20k......LOL. We did an incredible amount of work doing construction, road improvements, mowing, trenching, hole boring, spreading gravel, snow removal and everything else with that S220. It was a great machine. They are one of the most versatile pieces of equipment you can get.

Nice report, i got a better idea of what to expect out of the 2500. Safe travels.

We're pushing out about 3000 gpm from this water impoundment to the frack site.

Tens of thousands of horsepower pushing sand and water downhole to frack this four wells pad. They are doing a simul-frack so about 5000+ gpm going downhole. Some comes from a second source. We'll run 10+ days straight to finish the for week pad. More than 50,000,000 gallons of water. It will be flowed back, recovered and disposed of in a deep injection well 1 mile deep.

Did y’all pump that water out of the ground to start with?

That bobcat is badass!!

I forgot to post this picture, but I was running east of Miles City, Montana and I seen this ZR2 1500 come up on me, so I snapped a couple photos. He had Wisconsin plates.

If I wasn't trying to get my average mileage to 16 mpg, I would have dropped the hammer on his ass! Would have been 475 HP can of whoop ass poured right on on him!

I seen this rig roll up behind me the other day on the way to the farm. He turned off, so never really got to confirm if this was a ZR2 Might have just been run of the mill HD, agri looking at the picture.

My boy pulled up for the truck meet. Couldn't park behind the shop, cause it's full of other rigs and trailers. He apparently forgot how to wash his.

But Dad, it looks better dirty.
It's hard to keep stuff clean in the north country. It's easy in Arizona

There's a young lady working this job and she has to operate pumps sitting in fields where there's limited or no roads. She has about 5 inches of mud build up. She has Arizona plates.

I like that fishing set up on there. Now that’s genius. 😀
Sea Doo sells that ski with all the fishing gear and it is a hell of a nice package. It has Rotax triple putting out 170 HP and it'll do 55 mph. Stereo and lots of guages. Fish finder with GPS and lake maps.

I've never actually fished out of it, but my boys and nephews have. They troll for walleye and catch some.

My Dad bought this a few years ago. I was doing some service work on it and the trailer, so I took it out today for a few laps around this small reservoir next to town.
