Well this sucks. 
9k on the ODO and delaer service tech just called and they are assuming a total motor failure. He did not go into detail but said the tech dropped the oil pan and found metal debris everywhere. They arranged a rental/loaner and are currently in process with GM on course of action, lkely full motor replacement.
A week or so back I noted an odd noise coming from the engine bay. Sounded like a rattling noise on light exceleration that would go away after warm-up. It's been extremely cold lately so I didn't think much of it then went into reduced acceleration mode on the way home from work along with a check engine light. Parked it over the weekend and brought it to the dealer first thing. Went to limp mode again on they way to the dealer then wouldn't start after I parked it to speak with the service advisor.
Had it at the same dealer back in September for it's 1st oil change and everyhting was pretty great up until this happened. Purchased new in April '24, 100% stock. Obviously dissapointed and will update thread on progress.
