I was accelerating to get on the interstate and the engine stalled. I pulled off to the side of the road and tried to restart. It wouldn’t restart but still have lights and radio. Dash flashed low battery so I tried a jump pack with no luck. It makes an audible click but the engine won’t turn over. Didn’t throw any lights or codes prior to stalling or after. Any ideas? 2022 ZR2 with 6.2L

If you’re lucky it’s only the FPCM. This was a common problem for the ‘23s and I think it impacted some ‘22.5s.

My 2022 ZR2 took a shit a week ago while I was driving on the highway. The truck died in traffic near 70 MPH. Fortunately, I was able to navigate through the traffic and pull off onto a bypass, where I came to a complete stop to await a tow to the nearest dealership. The next day, the dealership informed me that my engine had seized due to a bearing issue. Unfortunately, the 6.2 engines are currently on backorder.. WELCOME TO THE CLUB

It’s been running better than ever. I sure hope this isn’t the issue. How long is the wait for a new engine?

Engines have a habit of running really good just before they expire. Hopefully yours is a simple fix.

As of today, there is still no estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the engine. The dealership ordered it on Tuesday of this week. I called the GM customer service line at 1-800-462-878 and filed a claim. My GM representative, who was assigned to me, is supposed to arrange a different truck for me while my truck is waiting to be repaired. However, the dealership was trying to charge me $44.00 a day for the loaner vehicle. But my rep said don't worry about that I will put you in a truck next week. A course the $ 44 dollars a day was going to get reimbursed back to me from gm. After my truck was repaired. But I was not about to spend $1,300-$1,400.00 a month for a mistake gm caused.

GM mentioned that they have a little over 200 6.2L engines for spec customers that are waiting to be shipped to various dealerships across the U.S. I am one of those spec customers, so hopefully, my engine will arrive within a week or two.

Yeah that’s ridiculous. I wouldn’t spend it either.

Would be nice if it was a week or two but, I think someone else on the forum recently got theirs after waiting I believe 3 months.

They had mine 4 month and got only 300 dollars no loss of time on warranty in shop and only a standard 12 months on engine, hope you have a extended warranty you’re going to need it with that engine ,it’s a matter of time knowing it will happen again , not a good feeling when out of warranty , if you got one great ,if not SELL IT ! Trade it dump it GM customer service don’t give I shit about you (there Job is to be understanding) BS /in my case buyer beware!

Yeah, it’s pretty clear that I’ll own this up until extended warranty expires and not a day longer. Sucks because like many of you, I have customizations that I’d like to enjoy longer. I just don’t want to be buying an engine out-of-pocket. I’m sure it’s already happened to some poor soul and it’s about to happen more often as these rigs accumulate miles.

What's the longest extended warranty you can get?

My boy got one on the 2015 Duramax I sold him. I think he paid a little too much, but he wanted a 5 year. Truck had about 90k on it when he added it.
