Hello Everyone!
I dropped off my truck to tint today and one of the techs informed me some installers do not recommend tinting the sunroof.

I searched a bit online and here is the short story:

“The main concern with tinting a sunroof is the potential for the glass to crack or shatter due to added heat stress,”

My question is has anyone had any issues with this in the past?

Any tinted sunroofs out there holding up just fine?

My plan was to do a 50% Ceramic tint to block out any additional heat. Coming from the sunroof.

I appreciate the help!

Bullshit story. Sunroof in my truck is tinted with 35% Solar Guard Vortex.

My wife’s Fusion has 15% Vortex.

4 years on her car, 2.5 years on my truck. In Florida. So plenty of heat stress here.

Good to hear!
I ended up going with 50% on the sunroof ceramic tint. That way I can have a clearer view of the sky.

Thanks for sharing!
