Lifter Tap?

So the truck has been there for over a week and nobody can plug their laptop in and gitrdun?
I guess I do my work differently
I'm not defending any of these dealers, in any way...But there is a truth to be told, that there is a shortage of qualified technicians in the auto repair industry. Most dealers have gone to team-pay systems, not so much to save them money but to make sure the crappy techs get some worthwhile pay, while using the one or two masters in the shop to supervise and diagnose. Master techs don't make too many mistakes....The lube rack kids make lots of mistakes. In between, you have assclowns that claim to be techs, but they are really nothing more than parts changers. These people have a useful purpose...they replace parts and generate revenue...But they can't actually "fix" anything. Sadly, it's all the dealer can hire. We sent all the other kids to college to learn how to study genders and Psychology.

Funny enough, my youngest wants to be an under water welder. Boy is smart as a whip but doesn't want to go to college he wants to go to technical school to learn welding so he can later do scuba diving and reach his goal. He is currently almost 16 and since he was 12 this is what he wanted.

Maybe we will eventually get mechanics back. Who knows.

I've got one that's working as an electrician and one in automotive. Both good students, but hated sitting in a classroom. They 22 and are doing quite well. No debt, good paychecks, and know how to save and invest.

My nephew started welding when he was in high school..... he's never had to worry about having enough work and making good money.

Lots of ways to make a living..... do something you like and work harder than others and it'll take care of itself.
