Hey guys if you recall i did bend my front shield skid plate a year ago and i ordered the skid plate from the dealership recently and received it today. However i have a question on its color as it looks bare aluminum rather than matching the same tone/color on the original skid plate. Wanted to see what you think?

Don’t you guys think it has to be painted that color not sure if i call it light gray the one that comes on the front fascia skid. Appreciate if anyone experienced this🙏

If you bought other body parts, they would not be painted.

I just had to replace a sensor on the bumper that had to be paint-matched to the bumper by the dealer.

A skid plate that isn't painted doesn't surprise me...Actually, I'd expect that and would have asked that question when i ordered it.

Thank you my man, the dealer parts guy was telling me it’s matching just clean it and I was like i ain’t blind. Will have to paint it just will look for that color code.

the dealer parts guy
That guy...the usual source of many problems, though I do sympathize with the difficulty of managing a gazillion parts for a bunch of different models.
The techs have just as many issues with such things, so you are not alone.

You can pound it out or if I was you I would Line X it. As you found out, it's not really a skid plate, it's just a cover to prevent debris from getting into the motor. Line-X will give it some rigidity and protect the surface, either way, it won't hold up to heavy use.

Totally agree, thank you

That looks like its the inner part of the skid plate, not the painted one that is attached to bumper. Here's what it looks like under my truck. It is not a painted surface.

My front recovery red hooks are not aligned just like yours, the one on the right is kinda pointing down, what do you think

Haha, I never noticed! Now you've triggered my OCD. Mine is stock so I guess that's how it is.

Those tow hooks should be straight. They will rotate down if the bolts into the frame are loosened. I had my front fascia off to Line-X it and took the hooks off. You can see it in these pictures how they hang down when loosened. Can't recall if they use one or two bolts.
