Howdy from Florida

So, I started a chat with the GM corporate folks. I have a case number now and they have reached out to the dealership. I hope for some info soon, but as of last Friday it was still being worked and no estimate on how long it would take. I find that incredibly hard to believe. If you charge $170 an hr for labor, you have an idea how long something is going to take you to repair. Dealerships can’t manage a maintenance department with zero idea on scheduling services. I digress, but this starts 3 weeks now with no real end to when I might see my truck again. I will keep yall posted on anything new and worthwhile.

Its usually because they haven't got parts allocated from distribution. They have plenty to keep turning trucks off assembly line but its slow for customers that own vehicles. When they did my vehicle it was 95 percent waiting, couple days to fix. 11 weeks.

in no way am i defending dealer. imo, i would have pushed for a motor. parts are still scarce. also, dealer is getting a warranty rate not the 170..not sure they are motivated. i think dealers are doing a disservice by not expiditing certain known repairs. you need to document progress and have GM cust service on speed dial. some dealers just dont give a shit. i hope you are in a loaner. good luck.

The lemon law in FL is pretty well respected and they have 30 days to remedy it or write a check. I’m good with either a fixed truck or a check. I’m very much aware my dealership doesn’t care about me or my truck. They will also never see me buy a vehicle from them again. I’m just keeping tabs on everything that is said, done, emailed or chatted to hand over to an attorney if needed. I hope it doesn’t get to that though.

He who has the documentation wins. You are doing everything right.

Yep, they got your cash already and they still have to fund their bloated money losing EV program by selling more gassers. They couldn't give a shit about whether or not you have a truck.

That's why I say, try to negotiate a new truck. It'll likely get you moving quicker.

I have been trying to push for a motor. I can’t hardly get anyone to take a call. The dealership doesn’t seem to care anyway and gives me no useful information. This has definitely solidified my opinion of my dealership though. I can’t wait to be done with them.

that sucks...i feel horrible for you. have you called GM cust service and voiced your concerns? they have always picked up for me when i call. you have an open case. calling cust service and voicing your displeasure imo is way to go. tell them you want a motor. tell them about FLA lemon law. play dumb and ask them to give you info on arbitration process. i think dealer is a waste of time.

Yep, amp it up and go from there. My dealer has called GM and asked for support for "loyal customer". They warrantied a water pump past the warranty period.

I'll always give them a shot to remedy, but won't wait on them past reasonable time.

Also, you can ho talk with the another dealer and have them pick up the truck and service it.

I appreciate it. They (GM Corp office) said they would contact me today by close of business. I will call them tomorrow since they did not call me back and give them the case number and the copy of the chat I saved from the corporate office. I’m just trying to wade through it and get back in a working Silverado.

im not gonna say i know what ur going thru but hang in bro. stay on top of GM. you are not the first owner with issue. squeaky wheel gets the grease.

So they are replacing the motor. However, they now say it will need a new radiator as well and that is on a nation wide back order. So still no ETA on getting back. It has now been 40 days or more at the dealership. I’m letting the lawyer handle it now.

That's the correct approach. You should have been in a new vehicle by 30 days in.
