Hey gang -

New member to the forum but have been around for a bit as I researched my new truck.

I picked up my 2500 ZR2 in mid-December and have loved it so far. Traded in my 2016 Ram 2500 laramie on the ZR2.

So far I have added:
  • Duraflap mudflaps
  • Readylift Logiq AirIQ Airbags (still need to install compressor and air tank as the compressor didn't fit on my frame)
  • Tmat bed organizer
  • Builtright bedside rack system (air compressor will be mounted to this)
  • Kicker Subwoofer
  • Podholes rear step lights
  • Banks idash with their dual idash mount for the grab handle
  • Items sitting in the garage waiting for a good weather day
    • SDHQ ditch light brackets with Rigid DSS Pro lights
    • Garmin Powerswitch
    • Banks rear diff cover
    • Banks oil pan
Planned Future Mods:
  • Chandler Truck Accessories front bumper with Full Guard
    • Diode dynamics lighting
    • Warn winch
Here's some pics (day I purchased, 1st trip to the hunting ranch, what I tow)

Welcome and you didn’t waste anytime time getting the modifications done.
I pulled the trigger a little earlier than I planned when I started having a few issues with my Ram. Luckily I found this one that was in transit to my local dealership that matched the specs I would have ordered. Put my deposit down in late November and was able to stock up on upgrades taking advantage of Black Friday sales. Fortunately it was delivered a week earlier than they quoted so I was able to get the airbags and mudflaps on before my last hunting trip of the season.

Excellent! Good to see someone else that actually tows with it too!
I've only towed with it once so far but was pleased with how well it did. I was nervous about the soft suspension but it was a lot more stable than I expected. My Ram had a 6" BDS lift on it with 37s and it had more body roll than I liked when towing. The ZR2 was a lot more stable on the highway and also a noticeable improvement on bumpy dirt roads and off road compared to the Ram.

The drive home was a little sketchy with 40-50mph wind gusts though. Looking at upgrading to beefier weight distribution hitch. The Anderson hitch I use did great on my previous camper but isn't the best with the new camper when there are high winds.

Thanks, I will take a look at the Equalizer before I order.

I've been looking at the Weigh Safe True Tow Heavyweight and in theory the adjustability of it would be nice. Half of my trips are hunting related and I tow out to camp with a full water tank and come home empty. Looks simple to adjust distributed weight based on those factors with this hitch.

I've been married for 24 years and I really like, and agree with your disclaimer.

That was funny. I’m on marriage #2 and don’t want to look for #3. I know better than that with my vertically challenged wife, her having that crazy girl name or sound alike. She can shoot better than me, so I’m good. lol thanks for the advice though! lol

The ZR2 sits lower than my last truck so my wife is happier with this one. The powersteps help as well.

It also helps that she prefers loaded campers with all of the comforts of home that you need a 2500 to tow. I definitely don't mind having a heated massage recliner after sitting in a hunting blind all day either!
