Hello all,
After years of research and constantly coming back to the ZR2, I finally pulled the trigger on a deal too good to keep me from just doing it. I have a New Cypress Gray ZR2 with the 3.0 Duramax. I have been doing a ton of research on the 3L and finally felt comfortable with a good year + with the new LZ0 out in the wild getting great praise/reviews.
I’m sure there a lot of “but that oil pump belt” concerns, but after the 200k recommended change interval and likely other transmission matters between now and then, I figured why not.
4 days in and getting nearly 23mpg real life mileage. Coming out of a Tahoe RST with the 5.3L, it’s nearly a 10+ mpg improvement at least. Living in the mountains of Montana, these vehicles take a beating with the weather, altitude, road grades, etc. Needed something with a bit more ummph and feel like I found that solution with this truck.
I’ve already ordered a Real Truck Tonneau, Hinge container, Banks Pedal Monster and some lighting tweaks. Looking forward to digging into the capability of this truck.
