Bourbon Talk

My go to bourbon is Weller and although not a bourbon, Jack Daniel’s Bonded is pretty darn good. Neither will break the bank. Light up a good A. Fuente cigar and you’re all set.
Which Weller? That stuff is very difficult to get in Florida. I also really like the JD Bottled in Bond. Pretty great price point too!

I buy the green label Weller. It’s on allocation in Tampa, FL as well but our local ABC Liquor store gets a drop every Tuesday. It does sell out quickly and they don’t put it on the shelves. They keep it behind the counter. I’ve never tried the black label Weller which is aged longer as I’ve never been able to find it. My wife went to the buffalo trace distillery last year and loaded up on the Green label.

There was a time I couldn’t even find the green label anywhere near me. Space coast of Florida. A buddy of mine in Texas sent me a case told me to make it last. Haha. Wish I would have known you can find it in Tampa when I went over there to pick up my truck.

That’s some good looking juice. Ive got a couple bottles of Blantons and Eh Taylor. Excellent stuff. I really like the Elijah Craig also, particularly the barrel proof. I have an EC 18 yr that I haven’t opened yet. Maybe soon.

It's friday folks! Which means today we grab a dram and toast to survival!

Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking.

If you cheat, may you cheat death. If you steal, may you steal a woman's heart. If you fight, may you fight for a brother. And if you drink, may you drink with me.

Cheers all!!!

Never heard of it. You’ll have to share how it is and I’ll have to look out for it. Happy Friday!
For me, not one of my favorites. Although I have a lot of stuff from Balcones, this one as good as it is for a single malt just is ok for me. If you like a heavy oak and grain taste, a spicy finish, and a sharper taste, you’ll love it. I normally would hit this in the winter, but I was in the mood for something a little rough and ready tonight. This hits the spot.

Great description. I’m not afraid of bold flavors. I prefer the higher proof whiskeys/bourbons that taste good. One of my favorite barrel proofs is Elijah Craig BP coming in at 132.4 proof. Doesn’t drink that hot though.

I’m like you, higher proof full flavor is the way to go. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’d never force what I drink on anyone. Why I hate recommending stuff to people lol

I’m about to move to my go to Texas whiskey here in a sec… pic incoming.
