****6.2 RECALL HAS BEEN RELEASED*****TSB NEEDED

Also the oil cooler leaking into the coolant, it's cool enough........go fuck yourself.

Brake controller not working, you don't need to stop that 10,000 lb trailer 3 feet off your tailgate anyway..........go fuck yourself
Whats bad is I actually had the brake controller one first before the service bulletin and I was the one who posted on here about the oil coolers leaking around 40k and I forgot both of those lmao

Tailgate latch dropping the gate on its own also.
Update hanging up and draining the battery overnight. (I had that one happen also)
Do we count the 1500s not being able to go in to neutral after the motor blows?

It hurts your head if you think about it all.

I'm going to have to make a third trip to the dealer to get my tonneau cover replaced. GM said not their problem, selling dealer had to call manufacturer. Manufacturer just said it might be 4 more weeks for approval after acknowledging the huge crack in the seam......LMFAO. There's a new tonneau cover sitting at the dealer for 6 weeks waiting for install.

I still like the trucks, just way to much drama for me.

I just had a few injectors replaced, under warranty. GM didn't deny the claim. No charge to me. As for everything else....fingers crossed. What else am I gonna do

So, we need more info. Can someone who is an insider find and post the TSB for this recall? I want to know what they are actually doing. I'm afraid that due to the volume of vehicles affected, they are going to just change my oil and filter and pretend it's all good...
I called my local dealership and that's exactly what they are doing. They said they are going from 0W-20 to 0W-40. Running the wrong oil for a year plus can't be great. I've noticed lag in the engine, but their first step is to "change the oil and see how it does".

When I called the dealerships here they acted like they didn’t know what to do. Gotta love those types maybe I should call the ones in PCola lol.

My daughter called the Caddy dealer here this morning and they told her nothing we can do at this time, and you are safe driving your vehicle! Good Lord what a cluster.

If they were safe, there wouldnt be a "safety" recall right?

Yep! You're safe driving it.....til it seizes in the middle of the interstate.

This will take years to fully resolve. They will slow walk it, so it doesn't impact their quarterly earnings significantly during the process. That way the stock price won't be affected.

It'll be interesting to see if they announce the expected actions and impairment charges during their next quarterly report, which won't be until July mow. Perhaps they will announce it pre-earnings.

Right now, Wall Stree seems to be digesting it just fine, maybe they don't think it's a big deal.

Well, the way they are doing it, almost all will pass inspection. So basically everyone gets a free oil change. Most likely that is all most are seeing. Free oil change so that’s nothing.

Went by my servicing dealer this morning. I have the check and oil change scheduled for Saturday. However, if the code is found there is currently “no resolution available” according to GM at this time and the vehicle will be released back to the customer. That’s going to leave quite a few angry people driving a vehicle that has a known issue that causes catastrophic failures. 🤬

That’s the problem though. It only says no remedy to the 0000 recall issues to all of us. The dealers got 0001 that says replace if code and change oil if no code.

That does not jive with what I was told. They were adament that there was no fix if the code was present even when I mentioned replacement it was met with “that does happen when the motor fails but there’s no directive from GM to replace anything right now”. I guess I’ll cross that rubicon Saturday if the code is there.

Yes, but we've been driving them for 4 years this way, as well as with bad fuel pump control modules that have shut down plenty of vehicles in traffic.

If the code is set, chances are your bearings already left the chat and you could be minutes from catastrophic failure. Rarely anyone knows or has time to react to that condition.

The oil change will do little to help address bad parts. In many cases the damage is done. That crank has spun up billions of times already and wear starts day one.

Very true.

I’m looking at it from the perspective of right now, there might be a bomb on board but if the code is present, there is a bomb on board and I’d like it taken care of please. lol

I'm surprised so many people online are in such a rush. Nothing has changed from a week ago. Same engine and oil. Not like its news a 6.2 could lock up, lol. I'd be surprised if the different oil makes all that much difference.

I went for two reasons. First, I need an oil change and figured why pay for it. Second, I had a couple of mysterious chimes and quickly flashing messages happen on a recent road trip so my wife is very concerned and this recall made things worse as we have another trip planned in a couple months so she wants some piece of mind. Haven’t told her yet about the dealer visit but I’m sure she’s not going to be happy.

You can look at many sites that actually posted the 0001 document and see it states plainly, if the code is preset for vehicles on the lot, quarantine the vehicle and repair/replace the engine. If the code is not present, change the oil and send it on its way.

Why the recall we got for the same issue, ending in 0000, says remedy unknown is really anyones guess. But I agree with a statement Axe has said about kicking it down the road to draw it out as long as possible so it doesnt affect the bottom line.

Same as Smokey, I was due an oil change. Why waste my money and use the 0W20. Granted, its probably what its had it in its whole life and it is what I put in it when I got it. But no sense in causing more damage if possible. Either way, The damn thing will run or it wont and in the end, they will replace it since its under warranty for a long ass time.

Dealers are only supposed to service on the lot vehicles with recall 0001 it states it multiple times in the document.

does anyone in the "wild" have recall 0001 for their actual vehicle?

I have yet to see anything come out on that recall...though I'm sure it will be the same procedure.

I'll change my oil to 0w40 at my next interval if there's no "remedy" by then but...I'm no more worried then I was prior to this BS.

Does irritate me that I bought 3 cases of 0w20 though a month ago though.
