So, before I got my truck (November), I'd never heard of a ZR2 (neither did my 16 year-old kid). Granted, I was a Ford guy, so I didn't really look at Chevys; however, it's not like I purposely ignored them.

Now that I've had my truck for several weeks, I must say, I'm more apt to notice other Chevys. Having said that, I've yet to see another ZR2, and I commute 40 miles each way, daily.

Are these things more of a rarity? Or, since there are so many freakin' trim packages available, do you think people shy away from these, in general, because of the cost?

Just curious on y'all's take.

There's quite a few around here, two more in my neighborhood. Dealers always seem to have them. But there's 8 million people running around too and people seem to have endless money.

I've seen them on cross country trips in the middle nowhere too.

Not like Trail Boss rigs, they're a dime a dozen.

When i first got mine, it was the only one around.. then i saw another black one (my twin), and a couple of glacier blue ones… we moved a little bit out of town and I’m back to being the only one for miles. Even the small town dealership I use is impressed every time i bring it in

I do love that they don’t have good production numbers for us. I saw something for 2023 Bison numbers at 100. Curious what 2024 is since I have one. lol

They heve to be higher than that. You can search GM inventory nationwide and get some idea what's out there. One recent article suggested fairly quick turnover, so whatever you see nationwide x 12 is about what you'd see in a year +/-.

Before I got mine there was only 1 around here, and I live in a pretty busy area between Baltimore and Washington, but I think most people want a High Country or LTZ if they are going for the higher trims. The one that I had seen was the bright red and must have been a 22 or possibly a 23 going from when I first saw it. Now there may be 1 more besides mine that I have seen but I only passed it once so I am not positive it was a ZR2, but I am floored that I haven't seen more of them around here considering the population and the number of high paying jobs in the area, but I haven't. So I know the red one and mine exist and I do have a couple of the pre-refresh Colorado ZR2's in the neighborhood, but I think a part of it is I am retired so I don't go out and drive all over hell and half of Georgia every day so there must be more, but I never see any at the stores or places I have gone. It is actually kind of nice to have a rarer truck than most around me, most here are RST's, Trail Boss's, LT's, and LTZ's, with a few High Countries sprinkled in here and there. One thing is for sure, I am always on the lookout for any other Chevy trucks of the refresh vintage when I go out.

I drive truck around the Pittsburgh, Pa area almost every day, and since I have had my ZR2, September of 2024, I have seen 6 other ZR2 's in the south western Pennsylvania area. There are Trail Boss's everywhere you look. Sometimes I'll see 6 Trail Boss's in an hour, but considering how much I drive around the area, there are not that many ZR2 's at all.

I also enjoy having kind of a rare truck. But it also makes me worry about it being stolen a bit more than I would when I had a Trail Boss. Theives like rare vehicles.

I agree, in order to TRY and keep mine in my driveway I take 2 relays out most nights, the fuel pump and starter relays, I also switch it to 4 wheel drive once parked and ALWAYS apply my E-brake, so even a key clone won't get them much but inside the cab unless they have some relays with them and know where to look and what to do to disable everything I do to stay a little safer. If they want it, they will likely have to drag it onto a flatbed, hopefully that will wake me up and I can get some target practice in from a covert location I have set up overlooking the driveway.

I’ve only seen a few around North Texas. Even fewer Bison’s. I would like to know the numbers for sure.
I have 2 of them. They are a few in the area where I live in the N/E Tarrant area. Two of my friends have them as well.

Wow! You really are proactive against the theft of your truck. Where I live theft really isn't that bad. I just worry about leaving my truck at the shop at work.

My wife and I both comment that we have never seen another Bison. I've seen a couple of the GMC high end versions.
I’ve seen more ZR2 Bisons running around in Central Florida than I have regular ZR2’s.

NE Tarrant area? I live in North FW off of 170 and Alta Vista. Really close. Lol

There's 3 of them at my dealer right now. They had two others a month or so when I was in for service.

I'm in for service.......again.
