Wireless Charging Retrofit

Went ahead and completed the install, per the provided instructions. GM part number 13537344 (wireless module) serves as a viable replacement for the non-working unit.

I have also learned that the 84974084 also works great and appears to be a bit cheaper in cost over the 135 model. Wonder what, if any, the differences are???

I don't know if this has been covered or not, but when I got my truck the wireless charging was trash. In and out, yadda yadda. I have a samsung and figured out you have to disable 'fast wireless charging' on the phone. Truck charger works just fine now. Will still put the boost charger in cause my wife's phone is always on red.

Do you have the install instructions? I am looking to add this to mine as well but I cant find anything on the actual install process. Everything I find is for the "refreshed" trucks with the charger on top of the arm rest.

Message me with your email and I'll send them to you.

I installed the 404 today. Tools you’ll need:
T50 torx
T20 torx
19MM socket
7MM socket
Plastic trim removal tool
Wire bundle retainer removal tool

Tips:
I did not have to unplug the seats
Slide the seats all the way forward first so you can access the 19MM bolt at rear lower part of console; you will have to tilt the seat up
Pull the retaining tab on the seat harness to give you a little more play to push seat back
The panel on the outboard bottom of each seat should be the first thing you remove
Test the charger before you reassemble

Time: 2 hours but I had to figure things out

Result: worked like a champ

What's VERY interesting is that there are two parts that will work perfectly in our trucks. 404parts sells the 84974084 that you can actually buy on-line for about $80. The other is the 13537344 that you can buy for around $120. They both do the identical same thing. Supposedly, the 849 part number is for a "Corvette" and the 135 part number for the truck...both work and do the same thing, so may be best to get the cheaper version and save another $30-$40.

I bought the Escalade, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon CT5 Control Module 13534568 on eBay for $75 just winging it from what limited info I could find (before finding this thread). I’ll let y’all know if it works. Was the harness there ready to plug in or did you need a dongle?

The harness is there, ready to plug and play. There was a "non-functional" box there as well. I did not take a picture of it but it had the words "NON-FUNCTIONAL" on it.

For those of you that ordered the part directly from GM or other means and not from 404, did you replace the pad as well? I am assuming it does not come with the part unless you get it from 404. Is there any need to replace the pad other than showing the wireless charging capability on it?

I am using the 404 module with my stock pad and it works fine, charges, dash indicates a phone is present and charging. 404 owes me the updated pad, but their memo states that you can use your existing pad.

All the new pad has on it is a warning label that things can get hot.

Can you post or email a PDF of the installation instructions? I'd love to take a look at them.

My 22 came with the wireless charger. Haven't used it much, but it doesn't seem to charge much at all. In fact, sometimes I think its discharging more than charging. My phone had no problem connecting to the charger, it just doesn't seem to work very well.

I used a USB charging cord for the the first time and it charged my phone 10% in about 20 minutes, which seemed good.

What amperage is wireless charger? May not be enough to offset normal useage.
