Wheel Spacers ?

Similar to TexAgg2002, I just added the 1.5” Dynofit aluminum spacers. I did not like the tucked in stock look, wanted to do 1.25", but couldn't find that in a brand I felt comfortable with. Glad I went with the 1.5", definitely gives the look it should have from the factory in my opinion. I went with the spacer option as a stop gap, didn't want to spend 3-4K on new wheels and tires. Spent $120 on the spacers and $35 to install. Figured I would wear the stock tires out and then determine if I want to spend the money on new rims and tires. Honestly, I am liking the look, and at this point don't think I will change anything.

I did notice there is a slight change to the drive, on the highway feels about the same, maybe a little vibration thru the steering wheel, on the rougher roads little bit more vibration. Nothing significant though, I did notice rubbing when I was backing up, so I will need to investigate more. Tad more road noise believe it on not with the tires pushed out a bit, again nothing significant.
Bora makes them in 1.25". American made ect. That's what I had on mine. I actually still have them sitting on a shelf in the garage, lol.

Thought I'd share a couple of pics with the new spacers. Like the stance better.

Want to sell them? Just totaled my 2022 ZR2, and have a new one on the way...
Yikes that sucks man, sorry about your truck. Sure I'd sell them. They are still sitting in the garage lol. I've got a few things off my 1500 I need to list.

Just wanted to share my input on the subject. I went with 1" spacers from Borne Off-Road. Item # S142280. $146 per set of 2 from American Trucks ($292 total), but I'm sure you can find them from other vendors. They seem like high quality parts. I had to cut the bolts, but it was actually easier than I thought. The tires look perfect now. Photos attached.

i used these exact ones on my 1500 Bison. I have a slight rub because of the Weather tech mud guards on full lock turns.
Well, this is what my BORA 1.5" spacers (front) looked like after about 3K miles of driving on them. Nothing off-road, or any heavy loads, just back and forth to work and some trips to local stores.

Luckily, I found one lug nut in my driveway and was like WTF??? I drove to the tire shop (about 6-7 miles away) where I had them installed, and #2 was missing from the right one. They told me as soon as the wrench hit the lugs, #3 came off the right one and #1 off the left. These were on the front. No issues with the back set. I'm just glad I was not driving when the rest of them decided to break off.

So, needless to say, they have been removed from the truck. Looking into a new wheel/tire setup, with the right offsets to provide the poke I'm looking for. Will likely end up doing a 4" lift to get 35s in there.

Man, I'm glad you caught the failure before it became something catastrophic!

I wonder if the tire shop installed them using an impact wrench? They are supposed to be tightened by hand using a torque wrench per the instructions Bora (and all other manufacturers) provide.

Yeah, overtorquing is one of the primary reasons that lugs fail. Also loose lug nuts when the wheel is vibrating and pushing on the lug. Also improper metallugy or heat treatment of the lug.

You can do the same with with stock lugs. Make sure whoever is doing it knows the proper torque values and uses proper equipment.

I use a set of toque bars to lightly seat my lugs while off the ground, then torque them sitting on the ground by hand with a torque wrench. Then retorque by hand after 50 miles or so. Rarely do they ever tighten any more the second time, but I've seen a couple of them move a hair before the torque wrench snapped.

I have 2" on mine. I upsized to 35s and the shop that balanced and mounted them stripped one of my studs. Only reason I found out was when I removed the wheels to mod the CrashBar. Not going to say the tire shop but it rhymes with Tiscount Dire.

I offroad regularly, most difficult trails and never had an issue with my spacers.

The shop is a family owned business locally. I was told they were hand torqued, but who knows for sure without watching them do it. Also was told the studs did not seem to be the same feel as the OEMs.

Anyway, just glad it did not happen while driving and have one of the wheels come off. Chalk it up to life lesson and just look to get the proper wheel offsets so the spacers are not needed.

Crazy, glad you caught it before it was catastrophic. I originally put spacers on mine, manufacturer recommended retorquing after certain number of miles, which I did. I ended up putting on a ready-lift leveling kit and UCA to fit 35's, did have to do some trimming on the front bumper. I opted to go this way because it was more economical than adding a lift, I could be wrong but even with a lift, you may still have to trim the bumper. Saw a YouTube video where somebody put 37's on, but the amount of trimming was ridiculous, he even cut out the crash bar...that's way to much for my liking.
