The first mod I would do is install the Range Module, that stops the DFM and auto stop. It'll make the truck less annoying, it'll run better, and be more reliable in the long term. It's the best mod I've done and relatively inexpensive. There's a lot of threads discussing this electronic module.

Also, since you have btanf new rig, get rid off the break in oil early at 1000-1500 miles. It gets really dirty early and should help with longevity. b have a detailed thread on that topic.

Buy a extended warranty and don’t worry about the dfm if engine goes bad it will be replaced /better to have piece of mind ,GM will repair or replace save you money and buy something else ,Range Modular is over rated
