just got wind that the new political administration wants to put tariffs on Canada and products that are imported from there by 25% OUCH!
Will this affect any GM vehicles that are made there and imported from there. 25% is a lot and makes me concerned it being passed on to Vehicle
prices. Its the people that ultimately pay for these type of deals. Would it drive inflation up, when it is supposed to be going down.

I was surprised to see Canada in the announcement, but that announcement was specifically related to border security at both the Canadian and Mexican borders. They are looking for compliance, not tax revenue, and I wouldn't be real surprised if it was handled prior to enacting the tariffs with our neighbors to the north.

I believe the HDs and Colorado's are both all assembled in the states. The 1500s look like they are assembled in three locations, one in each country.

May make Ford think twice about the Ontario plant for SDs though.

It's a bargaining chip...That's Trump's style of bargaining. Announce HUGE changes/threats, then negotiate them to get what he wants. He did it to Canada on steel, did it to Mexico to drive NAFTA out of existence, did it to Europe to get them to increase defense spending....Expect to see more of it. Relax...It's just the process.

Tariffs have a lot of exceptions and rarely do they affect most industries. Usually excludes those that are critical to the US workers and tax revenue. They won't come after trucks, cause that's economically essential for many businesses and workers.

Also if you're worried about getting a more expensive truck, go buy a Ram. My Dad just bought a new one for $12k off MSRP.

We should just take over Canada and Mexico. We could make those shithole countries great again and North/Central America would be untouchable!
