Something for the Duramax guys to look out for 😬

I wonder if GM knows were MAGA again now. Were tired of the fucking mediocrity and blaming covid and supply chain bullshit for all your fucking mistakes. GM has taken two of the most reliable, in demand vehicles (i.e.' 1500 and 2500 trucks) with the highest profit margins and turned them into giant steaming piles of unreliable shit.

Already a bulletin out on this. Mine was checked a few months ago.

I was just passing it along. I haven't seen anyone talking about it. When the tech said they had done 7-8 of the already I was a bit shocked. That's a major failure. He said they didn't know why it's happening. That service bulletin fix sorta sounds like the fix is a inspection and replacement of parts if the coolant is contaminated, lol. They didn't really suggest that there is a faulty part that needs replaced to avoid the problem. It's not brand new ones that's having the problem. Truck in the video had 40k+ on it.

Yes, there is quite a bit out there when it first started showing up. You just saw it a bit later.

If you drive a late model GM rig, you should expect problems and inconvenience. GM sucks and will cut corners on even the most reliable products know to mankind for the last 20 years.

Isuzu handed GM a great Duramax motor and Allison handed them a great transmission that cost $50k and lasted 20 years. Now we have neither and pay $90k for their junk that might make 12 months!

I just figured I'd share since it's the first ZR2 I've seen with it. Did find it pretty wild the guy was right at 42k miles. That video mentioned the failures are happening around 40k miles. On the plus side I guess the oil coolers are letting go before 50k 🤷. Same time them letting go at around the same mileage points to it not being a fluke or just random failures.

My ride is finally back after 2 months, one month for parts, another for flushing, and….Unless the “Black Essentials Package”(which I don’t have)includes a black oil filled coolant reservoir, my truck is still not good. Dealership, knows it is not right, and doing everything they can. A GM field engineer basically told them to pretend it never happened, from what I gather.

Sorry to hear that! I can't believe they are that fucking stooopid to think diesel oil wouldn't soak right into that translucent white plastic. That should automatically make the parts list.
