I have a 24 6.2 and am planning to use the upf63r filter. This is the gold ac Delco version. Is any one else using this filter? Any reason not to?

I haven't, but the video below doesnt look significantly enhanced. I've cut several PF63 filters open and they are put together pretty well for $10 at Walmart. I've got some pictures posted in my oil change thread. I'm sure there is some benefit to the synthetic filter, but not sure it'll result in any better wear protection, which is mostly provided by oil additives. More frequent oil changes may be better.

The reason I ask the question is I used my gm rewards points to purchase maintenance filters... cabin filter, air filter and the upf63r oil filters. I'm just making sure that there is not a down side to using this oil filter. It is to my understanding it provides a higher bypass pressure.

I've been using K&N oil filters for most of the 30k life of mine.

I see in this PF 63 video he discusses the filter design changes in the last year, which I've mentioned in other threads. However, one thing he notes is the video at 7:30 is the spring rate on the new filter seems to be stiffer. Perhaps this filter has a higher pressure bypass spring.
