Trying to see if I can get Bison or Skid plates by next year. Hesitant to take some chances with basic underbody protection.

Cost of protection may cost less than the damage and recovery.

Definitely recommend them.

I've got a few bends and dings in my skid plates. Nothing major. Just proves it is doing its job. What they have installed on the ZR2 is good enough, as long as you don't go crazy over lots of pointed stuff. I also take a cheap trailer hitch with a ball and insert it upside down. It helps with the butt rubs and has saved the bumper a few times.

3 parts of the trail were extremely sketch. My driver side rock slide came up and hit the rocker bent it a bit and I have a few dents on the skids.

It started raining twice and made things slippery.

I bought the truck to push it when I can so we'll see what else I get into.

I do plan on getting one of the tow hitch slides other members have here. That would've came in handy lol.

Here is a few shots of my rock sliders and skid plates. Are the bison style better... Yes.... do you really need them.... depends , but the plates they chose for the regular ZR2 is sufficient for most. Just my opinion!

You must be the one to decide depending on how hard you push it and where you choose to go....

The sliders I chose, did exactly what I expected. They kept the body from damage and for the pricing , they are an acceptable loss. The standard skid plate is plenty thick for my use and only has minor dents which is fine. I still have the slightly damaged sliders installed and will keep them on until they are beyond use. I am very pleased with my purchase and choice. I chose the double layer protective slider steps from Rhino. They have an outer tube and an inner tube with a small toe step plate in-between. (Dominator extreme ZZ) so they give an additional layer of protection. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and highly recommend them over the stock sliders that GM sells from the dealership, not to mention they are almost half the price.

That damage on the sliders can be fixed with some Bondo and spraying them with some Raptor liner, which will match. A spray can of that and a jug of bondo will go a long way.

Yep..... Well worth the approx 600 I spent. Plus the body shop gave me a brand new set to install, that the insurance company paid for, in that hit and run. I told the body shop, don't put them on, Just leave the old ones on until I beat him up more,...then I'll put the new ones on when I need them. It's nice having an extra set on standby ready to go on!
