Wanted to say Hello,
Just bought my first Chevy ever, Could not get over how good the new ZR2 looked, and value it offered for the price. Have always owned Tundra's (2007,2010,2012,2015), Then a 2018 F250 that was a great truck but Ford is stuck in the past and needs a new body style so I made the leap. So far so good looking to add a Bedrug and Tonneau Cover. Also waiting on factory running boards and black out labeling. Really exited for the weather in Ohio to warm up to tear up the town in my new rig.

Welcome and enjoy the new ride. Looks like pics have been added.

Congrats. I went from a Tundra as well, MPGs were very similar (gas). I’m loving the truck so far, got mine is August.

This Ohio weather sucks! 😒

Got the factory running boards added, and the blackout badges.
Nice to be able to get into the truck without ripping jeans. Lol
Looking for mud flaps and how to install a roof light for work or if I am going to run a z flash lighting card.

I went with a BakFlip MX4 Tonneau Cover for my 2500. It’s built solid and was easy to install. My only gripe is I still get a good amount of water in the truck bed when it rains and going through washes. I honestly feel they could have made it a little longer length wise to give more room for fit.

GATOR TAILBACK HARD FOLDING TONNEAU COVER
I had a tri fold that was flush to the bed on my last truck and it always had issues with freezing down to the bed and tailgate in the winter, and I was always afraid of the cable release at the tailgate being susceptible to being broken into since al you had to do was put a hanger under the seal and pull the cable and it would open up.
The gator doesn't sit flush so there is no track to install, and it has a pull down latch on each side that you can not get to unless you drop the tailgate.
I put a bed seal on and had to do some sealing at the head of the bed but have not had any water get into the bed so far.

They do make a seal kit that can help address the weatherization. Check out Real Trucks, as I think they are the manufacturer.

I just brought mine in for warranty as the rubber hinges were cracking. I'm about two years in. They are ordering a replacement.

Good to know, I’ll check that out. Thanks.

That is an awesome truck.

Guys... look at Diamondback covers... absolutely amazing for strength and utility. I had one on my '19 Colorado ZR2 and it was my first purchase for my '23 1500 ZR2 Bison. Completely waterproof... solid locking setup... and can carry an ATV up there if needed. For real.

I bought a diamond back tonnaue cover back in 2016 for a Dodge Ram I had. It was the one that had a solid center and opened at each end and I leaked terribly. It was hard for the seals to seal around the aluminum diamond plate. So I have avoided them ever since. The most waterproof cover I ever had was the on price Undercover Elite one piece. Only problem was it hangs over edge of truck and had a couple rub spots on the paint after four years.

@Grassman34 That stinks. By the time my 2019 purchase happened, that must have been fixed. I can confirm that the one I bought last year (2024) for my '23 Bison has even better seals than the one I got in '19. Also... there is a recommendation to re-adjust the bracket tightness on the closures after a couple of months. I haven't needed to, but I can see that it might be helpful.

I get nothing for my opinion, but my experience with Diamondback has been good enough that I recommend them to friends. Bummer that you had a bad experience back in 2016.
