Which one? I should get a better one for the garage. Does it 100% have the oil pressure PID?I just ordered an Autel scanner. Once It gets here and I get to play with it a bit, Ill see what it says about oil pressure.

Damage is already done! You can run 10W50 or you need to add some of this magic if your gonna run 10k intervals. So back from my dealer.
Replaced the Onstar Module, Recall N242435631 Data Gateway Module,
Recall N222389722 Transmission Body Screen Failure,
These two recalls they said "MAY" fix my intermittent check engine light and left intermittent "Check Headlight error"
Recall N252594000 L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion= No Cam Out of spec code, Parts ordered (Oil Cap) changed oil to OW-40 monitoring for oil consumption currently increased to 1/2 Qt per 1000mi
Talked to a couple of the service techs. Only vehicles getting new motors are the new ones on the lot, everyone else with an engine that tests bad is rebuild. They made that sound like it's no big deal to them or tried to downplay it. The said they showed my notes on how my oil consumption has steadily increased to a tech and he said it was normal for these engines. Service advisor was hesitant to accept that and said I should change every 5k. I know the old school and religiously changed oil on vehicles in the past. 89 RS Camaro I had in the military I changed every 3k or 2 months whichever first etc. I asked, "If GM has been marketing for decades now to change the oil when the meter tells you and that is set at 10k miles. I was hesitant about this on my return to GM with my 22 Cadillac XT5 but nope. Sales and service both said go till it tells you and it convinced me upon looking at the oil on the dipstick before going in for a change. Also GM has been marketing that their synthetic oil is good 10,000 miles...." Get my point. But now they say "That Engine" with referring to the 6.2 specifically. Even so, 1,000 miles in and already 1/2qt low already is on pace for 5Qts per 10,000 miles. It's not good for any engine to continuously increase its oil use. I have not had an engine that used that much oil since a 1973 Plymouth Duster 318 with a leaky rear main seal in high school and left a puddle on the ground and blew a puff of blue out the tail pipe when I started it. No answer. I think GM is blowing smoke up our azzes boys! Of course for me, they probably won't do squat and it will finally fail when I'm hauling snowmobiles to the Big Horns at night out in a snowstorm on some two lane Wyoming backroad or on the interstate with no other traffic to help out.
I'll put Amsoil Sig in after GM tells me to go pound sand with this consumption test. It'll probably delay the inevitable for a little longer. But I think when I reach the end of that AM Bumper to bumper platinum warranty at 100k It may be time to get rid of it if she hasn't had an engine replaced yet.
3,500-13,500 miles NO oil needed add
13,500-23,500 Low oil light came on day before oil change appt added 1qt 0% OIl Life Remain
23,500-31,500 Low oil Light came on at 20% Oil life (8,000 miles since last change)remaining 2Qts added
33,500 Oil Changed
35,024 1/2 Qt Low
35,044 Oil Changed for monitor every 1,000 miles.
Just like DEF and DPF on diesels you lose 2-3 mpg, spend tons of $ and further sacrifice consumption of natural resources to worship at the green alter!Gotta love all these eco friendly companies telling folks its ok to loose a quart ever couple of 1000 miles. Seems completely ass backwards to have all this half backed bullshit tech to net .2 MPG but loose all that oil into the environment.
