It happened today! *&%^&*$ Tailgate and handle assembly screwed up!

Yep did it my 1st week when I got mine. Not as bad as yours, but a noticeable dent when you look at it on an angle. I realized what I did before I actually stepped on the tailgate.

I have read about the problem, but totally forgot about when I cleaned mud out of my bed today. I opened both tailgates to step into the bed. I heard a crunching sound and knew exactly what happened. I know this has happened to others, but could not find anything here. Will insurance cover this? Anyone order the upper door skin on the tailgate?
 
On The Bison some of us need that step since bumper does not have one. It is a Little work. But for those of US who like the added buffer of keeping a hitch on. I Mod'd a CURT forged Hitch. now I dont recommend if you ar pulling significant Wt but if like most 4-10K it is fine. The forged hitch is a 20k tow and 2,700 tongue WT. You can Grind the contact Point The fraction hat is needed to clear.
