First Silverado ZR2 Mod?

What did he do with front shocks? Im being told the front shocks can only handle 1" of lift. Did he fabricate some sort of extension or change them out? My local 4WD centers will not level mine.
Here's a link on YouTube to see how one Silverado ZR2 owner did it, pretty straight forward. Good luck.

Go back to page 6 of this thread. MrMAn is the one who did it himself. If you got any questions, post them here and I will ask him if he can answer them for you.

The kit that I used is a spacer that goes on top of the shock, so it doesn’t effect the travel of the shock. I did have to re-clock the shocks in the assembly. When you use the spacer on top, you have to turn the strut assembly 180 degrees. If you don’t re-clock the shocks in the assembly, the reservoir would be facing outboard rather than facing inboard.

Getting GM rock Rails and 3M protective film put on next week, as well as the optional Borla exhaust. This weekend I’m off to the wheel and tire shop to test fit some tires to see how bad the rub is. If it requires too much modification, than it’s not worth it, but if it’s just rubbing that some inner fender massaging can solve, then I’ll squeeze in some 35s (most likely not true 35s). I’m prepared to trim the outside front fenders too and buy some replacements later.

Does anyone know where to get new ZR2 badges? I can only find ones for the Colorado.

The reverse bulbs & license plate bulbs in these trucks are halogen…looks like crap when all other lights are LED. There are lots of YouTube videos of swapping them out. These are what I have:

JDM ASTAR Super Bright Error Free 921 912 3035 Chips White LED Bulbs For Backup Reverse Lights https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CRGU91Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KRETFFE8N987JN8J1KDH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Also, the factory antenna is obnoxiously tall and ugly. Replaced with this one:

AntennaMastsRus - The Original 6 3/4 Inch is Compatible with Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (2006-2022) - Car Wash Proof Short Rubber Antenna - Internal Copper Coil - Premium Reception - German Engineered https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MY0NH60/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_61E39ZHY0C0703P11PNK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Hope that helps!

Thank you.
Do you know if the 4" red one will work just the same?

edit: It states in the description that it doesn't work with the refreshed trucks but they are working on one that does.

Their updated notes:

✔ In Stock
Important Notes:

  • 2022 Pre-refresh - The 12th digit of the VIN is a 4 or lower.
  • 2022 Refreshed - The 12th digit of the VIN is 5 or higher. The device installs behind the auto start/stop switch similar to the pre-refresh, but the installation procedure is different and varies by trim level. An installation video will be posted ASAP. Unfortunately, the person working the video has been in the hospital since May 30th.

I put some grille lights on today. Bought them off Amazon. Found what harness style the white grille lights were and bought the GM connectors and made my own harness for the amber lights to tie into them. Came out great I think!

Can you post link for the amber grille lights?
And would you be able to assist with the connecters/harness?
