Extended Warranty Options

I tried reaching out to Knapp for this info but all I get is voicemail and no one has called me back yet. My truck is 1.5 years old and has 21K miles on it. When I buy a purchase plan from Knapp that says 72 month/80,000 mi is that from the vehicle purchase date or the extended plan purchase date?

All warranties are from the vehicles in service date.

Thats a bummer because after putting my info in and getting a quote the longest coverage they offered was Platinum 72 mo/90k mi. for $3318. I was hoping for 84mo/100k mi.

This is why it's best to purchase around the time you buy your vehicle. The offers (terms/miles) can be far better and cheaper.

I found another dealer that sells the GM Platinum. Pricing is better than Knapp. The contact is Todd Sutherland at MacMulkin Chevrolet in Nashua, NH. Hes what he sent me when I inquired about a 7year/100k Platinum.

Thanks for reaching out to me.
Unfortunately, a 7year/100000 is only available for vehicles with under 12,000 miles on it
Term starts from the day you buy the plan.
Mileage is added to current reading.
When you are ready to purchase.
Please send me your full name, address and phone number.
The Vin number.
Exact odometer reading.
Price paid/date of purchase.
Term/Mileage/deductible desired.
Thanks, Todd

I’m pushing a little over 28,000 miles and I’m considering getting an extended warranty from Knapp. This is the most reasonable quote I can find on their website. Will they come down a little if I call in and ask if they can work on the price?

Is $3k per year for 5yr/60m?

My experience with Knapp was good. When I called it to ask about discounts, all they offered was a $100 veteran discount.

To me sounds decent if deductible is not too high.
You can choose from zero to I believe $500 deductible. Knapp’s prices seem decent compared to what other dealerships are charging.

I’ll give them a call and see what they can do. Either way it seems like an okay deal. I’ve never bought an extended warranty before but I plan on keeping this for a few more years and some of the engine replacement stories worry me.
