As I posted on the other Thread I wanted to update info in a new one over time.

Truck: 2024 Silverado 1500 zr2 Bison
Tire: Cooper Discoverer Stronghold at
Tire size: 285/75r17
Wheel: Method 703, 17x8.5 et0
Suspension modifications: None
Any trimming performed: None
No rubbing full lock both ways

Alright so as I figured when switching from the 295/70r17s the Coopers run slightly undersized compared to others. Really glad I switched to the 285/75r17s as they are the perfect size for this tire and truck. Completely stock suspension and zero trimming I’m getting no rubbing full lock both ways, including full lock in reverse.

Update 10-28-24:

I've been chasing a balancing issue since I switched from the 295/70/17s to the 285/75/17s. Took the truck back to America's tire to re-balance all 4 tires using their Road Force Balancer, these tires definitely took a good bit more weight to balance compared to the 295s. After they Re-Balanced them I am still getting a good vibration above 60mph. Since I still have my stock wheels/tires I decided to keep swapping each one out until I found the problem tire. When I swapped out both fronts the vibration went away, so I'm getting both of them swapped out today. Hopefully that fixes the issue and I don't get another defective Cooper.

Having had time with both the new Coopers as well as the Stock Goodyears I can say the Coopers are quieter and more comfortable compared to stock, especially at low speeds. The Coopers are not dead quiet by any means but I'd say they are about 25-50% quieter than the stock Goodyears.

Sounds like a PIA! Did you move the rears to the front to make sure they weren't turds too?

Best balance I've ever had was static balancing the tires, then breaking the bead and adding 6 oz of balance beads and running them. Never had to balance them again for the life of the tire about 40k miles on some 295 TOYO MTs. It's extra work for the tire company, but does work well.

No didn't have time, leaving this week and still need to load ammo. I'm going to have them make a note on the account to when we rotate the rears to the front in 5k if the problem persists to change those out too.

I've never heard of balance beads and just looked them up, so they just settle to the unbalanced size in the tire when you're driving? I might have to try these out at some point!

Method 703 or 705? I didn’t think 703s fit our trucks. How’s the 0 offset look straight on? I’m thinking about 705s or 708s myself.

703s, there’s a decent amount of room in there. Zero offset is perfectly flush for me!

Yes! I did not use them to balance problem tires, I used them to experiment and see if I could go without rebalancing so I could do my own rotations. The Toyo MTs always balanced good and wore well with frequent rotations, so i did them at 3k.
