I installed a UPR catch can on my '24 6.2 gasser. At 3000 miles, there was about 5/16" of oil in the bottom. I figured there would be more.

I get more in the colder months.I installed a UPR catch can on my '24 6.2 gasser. At 3000 miles, there was about 5/16" of oil in the bottom. I figured there would be more.
Yep...due to increased condensation from the cold.I get more in the colder months.
The CC catches oil...however, in the cold months, it also catches condensation and the can fills up more quickly due to the additional water captured. They are a great solution to all DI engines.Condensation is not oil. catch cans, the solution in search of a problem.
Well you got this part right...the SRT engineer is an idiot and the snake oil salesman knows bestsupposedly oil vapor will cause the blower to explode or some stupid story. an SRT engineer debunked it but of course he's an idiot and the snake oil salesman knows best.
Like I said, it’s up to each one to make their decision. I personally don’t want 1-2 ounces of oil and condensate going back through my engine every 3k-5k miles.Nobody is saying the oil is beneficial, it's just that it doesn't amount to enough to cause any harm. and I didn't say it hurts anything if it makes you feel better.
I said it's a joke and nobody should run and get one just because they read on the internet you have to. carpetbaggers have been selling magical elixirs for a thousand years, buy it if you believe.
This has been beat to death on my TRX forum too, supposedly oil vapor will cause the blower to explode or some stupid story. an SRT engineer debunked it but of course he's an idiot and the snake oil salesman knows best.
Whatever, I just find it comical.
