Bose Audio

Bose has ALWAYS been crap compared to what others are using in the market.
For the most part, I agree. In the late 70s and 80s they really couldn't be matched for home use. Sadly they rode the 901 series WAY too long with no innovation and it wasn’t until the SoundLink came along that it looked like they were back on track. Alas, another one and done release of quality. These days you’re buying a brand name not performance. Especially in the automotive space.

Good thing for me that I have so much hearing loss from the military that you could put me in front of a $500 vs $50,000 set up and I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the difference. Soooooooo my rig is just fine to me with the factory “Bose” 🤣

I'm sorry...what did you say? Couldn't hear ya.....

How does it sound? I purchased these based on recommendation of being. 3ohm. I am having them installed next week.
I never pulled the trigger. Now you get to tell us how they sound, lol.
On a side note, I spent alot of time playing with the settings in the truck and on my andriod.
I mostly use android auto and found that any equalizer settings on the phone other than flat ruined the sound. I just tune the sound on the head unit now,
It is still not great but way better than what it was.

Factory system is clear and has good volume. It just didn't sound good to me. But sound is definitely subjective. I will say this for anyone who hates it but doesn't want to put in a full system. When I traded my 22 in I removed all the upgraded stereo components, except for the tweeters and crossovers I had installed in the A pillers. Drilled holes and flush mounted them. So made sense to just leave them and replace them.

I had an 8 hour drive to the dealer and a 8 hour drive back home in my new 24 ZR2. Just the tweeters did make a noticeable difference. On the way up i was missing my stereo, but on the way back home i couldn't help but notice the factory system was worse without just those extra tweeters. Most of what you hear is from the dash. If you want to try and make an easy improvement. I'd say just replacing the dash speakers and adding some tweeters to the A pillers would probably be worth a try as far as a relatively cheap easy fix.
