Bars for mounting lights - whatcha got?

Im having a hard time understanding why we can't just, nicely, mount them to the bumper? Am I missing some code of conduct? Is it trashy to do that? Do it need to be on a bracket and become over complicated?

Dirt King has done some similar setups. I think with the 3" pods it could be made to look good. I've contemplated doing it too.

That's slick, but it's for the HD trucks. I'm after a solution for the half-ton trucks.

Maybe something could be made or adapted from these brackets? Maybe the brackets could be swapped, giving a shorter distance between the mountain points. Then, fabbing something up that spans the new, shorter bracket distance, one could mount a 10-inch light bar and a pair of Baja Designs S4 lights.

I don’t see why that wouldn’t work. A little googling showed that a guy with an at4x made his own brackets did basically that but with linkable baja design lights. His truck has the bison bumper, but the concept is the same. His brackets might even work with a silverado bison bumper 🤷

When I had my grille off I saw that the bolts that zroads uses are still there on the regular zr2 bumper

I do like his approach but I do not see a similar bolt set up between the two.

Our trucks will also likely require a camera relocation tab.

I will have an update in a couple weeks.

Nothing wrong it. I prefer not to drill or cut into the stock bumper.
Same! I've been trying to find a mount that I like but nothing is really low profile. I have mine mounted to ditch light brackets, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't been kicking around a bumper mount like that. Just haven't been able to bring myself to drill into the bumper yet.

Hey all brand new to this forum. My HD ZR2 shows up in a couple weeks and I came here looking for light mounting ideas. Could somebody with an HD ZR2 tell me how large the hexagonal holes in the grill are? I'm thinking of stuffing some led pods either inside of or directly behind those holes.

Much like your brain(because you didn't post a pic), the holes on the HD are too big for those holes, and you can't really mount behind them because you'll interfere with the grill shutters. Now, go post a pic.

Sorry I didn’t realize you hadn’t finished 5th grade. A hexagon has 6 sides. If you’re able to follow my logic here you’ll easily find the 6 sided holes in the grill without a picture. If anybody is able to provide the dimensions of the 6 sided holes in the grill I think I can find an LED pod that will fit and fabricate a mount that won’t interfere with the grill shudders. My 1 year old is really into picture books right now if you need some literature suggestions.

Nick from peak has the lights mounted straight to the bumper and I’m debating on going this route. He does have the peak bumper spacer installed aswell.
