Added these to the ride, moved the Squadrons down to the front bumper and put the XL's on A-pillar. Lowers have wide cornering lens and XL's have driving combo. Insane lighting, adding a behind grill light bar, S8 20" clear spot to round it out next week.

The squadrons in the bumper or the Podholes? He has excellent video on the XL's below the headlight.

I reaaalllyyyy like the lights down by the tow hooks. Putting them at the headlights don’t look quite right to me.

You know, they work really well with the wide cornering lens, happy we took the time to do them. They're angled slightly outward which fills the "ditch" areas as well as ahead. Like I said, I'd probably do the S1's if I hadn't already owned the squadrons (easier to fit). You can do it by taking off the front skid plate but it's really a lot harder then just talking off the bumper entirely. Mark where you want to drill first before taking it off! I should have taken pics but we were too much into it to grab the phone. We cut out behind with a metal air saw, and only the upper part behind where the light goes in. The squadron has a longer upper portion that goes back, not the whole light. If you don't mind the light sticking a little further out, you can probably get away with attaching a small flat mount that you can attach to the frame where the tow hook is mounted, then affix the light to the end of it. You'd see the frame it if you look in next to the hook. With the SPod controller, I'm able to dim them as well, around 20-30% on streets at night and daytime off-roading for visibility.

any issues with the hood brackets

The extra weight of the XLs made them shake a bit off-roading. I moved the lights forward about an inch on the bracket toward the bend and it helped. Just received the Morimoto brackets and they’re heavier and thicker. Going to swap the BD ones and put these on. I think that will solve it, the bends are shorter and the mounting shelf is short as well, less to bounce and move. I’ll post pics during the swap.

No it fit properly, handled the squadrons fine. It also fit the XLs, but you have to remove the antenna to open the hood or it’ll jam it. I re-drilled the mounting hole on the bracket further forward. It was originally further back on the rear of the mount which gave way to more flex. It helped but under high speed wash boards, it’ll shake. Other than that it’s fine. The Morimoto mount is thicker gauge steel it seems, and shorter distances between bends. I’ll swap this week and see what happens. Maybe drive over the neighbors fake lawn and plants to see if it shakes 😆
