Anyone have full satin PPF installed?

I stopped in a high end tint/ppf/ceramic installer to have a brow put on my truck (long story but previous shop cut it curved and hated it). They had a new Raptor S they were just finishing up with clear PPF all over and a ‘12 Tahoe that they had done full paint correction and ceramic coating (man it looked awesome).

I checked on full satin PPF - ouch$$$ - but dang I think that would look sweet and unique on my Sterling Grey truck!

Anyone done that?

Its worth it. I am doing a full paint correction and gloss armor wrap of whole truck right now. Should be ready next day or two.

I have full PPF beside bumpers, some noticeable “issues” because of the paint texture at the bottom of the truck. Which is only noticeable up close. Can’t really fix it otherwise.
It gives me peace of mind though, was very concerned about wanting to protect my investment. Only concern is will be long term over yellowing.

All of the top tier PPF is excellent and should never yellow. It would be a great idea to have the PPF professionally ceramic coated (or DIY with a high quality liquid ceramic) or ensure you take great care of it...keep it clean and waxed/ceramic sprayed every 3-6 months.

Good to hear about the yellowing.. I figured that’s years down the line and by then I should hopefully be able to redo it if needed.
They did ceramic coated after too I just wasn’t sure it was a standard process so didn’t want to seem too silly by saying that

The guy that does my work won't put PFF on that textured paint and he's been at it 25+ years. Does a bunch of the dealers work. He said it always does that cause the surface is hard to adhere to, especially the heavy texture that's in my 2500HD.

I've had some on my last truck and Tahoe for over 9-11 years. It'll always show some wear and tear over time. You'll see the finish dull and the edges will begin to collect dirt as it gets under the film. Not much can be done about it over time. When I pulled it off my Tahoe hood when I was selling it, it was a PIA to clean and you could see a wear line where the edge of the material sat.

It has it's advantages and disadvantages, but it ain't a perfect solution.
