Anyone have full satin PPF installed?

Going to put my $2.00 in lol. I priced PPF for just the front end of my truck and was quoted about $1400. And you can do your own PPF but I suggest you get a professional that has the software and does this for a living as there are supposed to tuck in the material so it doesn't start coming off and flapping in the air like some 90 yr old .....you get the point. Now $1400 was my quote without the extra $600 to $700 for the prepping and ceramic coating after. I see no point in this, I do drive my truck on the highway and big rocks will still penetrate the PPF also if you live in an area where you get lots of bugs, there is a YouTube video on why you shouldn't spend money on PPF, unless you like to fork out $1400 or more every year. I see no point, and two times you pay for PPF you can get your front end re-painted. I ceramic coat my own vehicles, yes its a pain in the ass, but I bought the buffer machines and all the equipment I need, just do your own stuff and learn, there are several buffer machines that you can purchase and are safe and won't really burn your paint unless you leave it at the same spot for 10 minutes. Sorry not trying to be negative but I see no point in paying for something that is not really worth it. Also on the Ceramic coat subject.....many detailers won't tell you, but most carwashes will strip your ceramic coating. Its the soap they use, so if you get your truck ceramic coated do yourself a favor and wash it yourself.

Yeah. I paid $700 for that Tahoe a long time ago and it had a lot of cuts and details to it. It was on a white diamond tri coat and for about 3 years it looked really good. Then it started to get dull and the edges got dirty. I should have pulled it long before I did, but it did keep it completely chip free. I was not able to buff that edge line out where dirt sat, so in that way it caused an issue. But like you said, this stuff should probably have be pulled off and replaced more frequently and that would cost a lot!

the ppf on my doors were pretty effed up after just a couple thousand miles. ended up having to put a layer on the bottom of the door on top of the full sheet. looks well..... kind of crappy. but the gravel from my driveway had been going right through the single full sheet.
