Can anyone confirm that the early 24 ZR2 HD tail lights are the same as early models (1500 and/or 2500's)? These are LED but not the new style (see pictures). All the aftermarket ones state 20-23, some say 24 but when you drill down to order they state pre 24. I've called a couple of the aftermarket guys and they don't know for sure if their stuff fits. The dealer wants $1,100 for one tail light and I think that's ridiculous. I would not rule out a nice set of aftermarket if I knew they fit. Yes its insured but I have several other vehicles insured and wont risk everything going up for one tail light. Thanks

). I have done searches with no luck.

I cracked a tail light on my 24 2500HD. I swapped a taillight from my 22 1500 and it worked fine. They were different part numbers and different stamping on the inside plastic, but they are the same design. They have both halogen and led lights inside. The led lights are sealed and use a different socket. Check ebay. There's a guy on there that builds service trucks with different beds. He sells the tail lights and beds separately.

Let me know if you want some advice on straightening that crooked Bison bumper too. I know a guy that fixed his and shared his wisdom.
Please, do tell. Maddening the money spent and you get that. I still love the truck with her flaws

I posted some pictures and thoughts in a thread. Some guys got mad at me for pointing it out. I can't tell for sure on the angle of you photo, but it looks a little turned up and forward just like mine.

I was able to unbolt that cross brace underneeath the corner and pull the bumper back with a come along just enough to add a few washers as spacers. It straightened mine about 90%, but it's not perfect but not that noticeable now.

I brought my rig into the dealer for some software recalls yesterday. I went over to their body shop and talked to one of their guys. He said they haven't seen any Bison 2500s yet, but told me it may not even be the bumper, it may be the bed that is not square. He said they've pulled a lot of beds the last couple years to square them properly. I never really thought of that, but I looked at several 2500HD and seen a lot of rear bumpers not square on the passenger side. So he may be on to something there.

Looking at your project car, I figure you may be the guy to sort this out and get a proper fix.

Thanks, the car took 13 years to get it where it is in the picture, but worth the time. The bumper is on my list, I sure hope it isn't the bed. But, now I have to look at it with different eyes

It's not near as bad as that picture makes it look, but it is off and one side is tighter to the body than the other. I know i could have the dealer deal with it but honestly I don't trust them.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts. My theory was that brace should have been 3/8 longer off the frame so when it was torqued down it didn't pull into the body. Also maybe the metal warped when welding or was bent too far during fabrication.

I tried to get AEV to respond, but they went radio silence after my first call and email with pictures. I sort of think they didn't want anybody to know what the issue was.

I'll definitely post when I do address that. It will likely be after the holidays when I get to it

This was the cause of my rear bumper alignment issue. The hitch is not square.
I pulled a lot of measurements from frame, hitch, bumper etc, but didn't see any anomalies. I never pulled the hitch, so it isn't the best assessment.

I did look at my bed when I got my rig back today and it looks pretty squared up against the cab and off the back. My rear fenders have about a 1/2 inch differential to the ground, fronts are about 1/8 inch, so may need to tweek my torsion bars after all the heavy towing I did the last several weeks.

Shimmed with washers. They ordered me a new one that came in worse than the original. Clearly it was headed down a path of what is an acceptable tolerance by GM.

Sounds about right for some of this shit nowadays.

Where were the washers placed? I used washers on my outer brace to get a little more length. Thinking of pulling brace and adding some length or fabbing a new brace which I think would fully square the bumper.
