I just started towing with my Silverado 1500 ZR2 at 5,000 miles, after having the second oil/filter service completed. I plan to tow a utility trailer (zero turn mower), a flatbed car hauler (RZR 4 seater), and possibly an enclosed trailer/toy hauler conversion with axel flip-lift. Since the tongue height varies considerably on these trailers, I’m looking at an adjustable, aluminum ball mount. It looks like a 6” drop length would be ideal.

What adjustable hitch ball mount are you all running on your 1500 ZR2?

B&W if you have the multiFlex Tailgate. Might want to check that one out that has a built in scale. Also may want to get some leaf spring support or air bags as this suspension is pretty soft for towing. Lots of threads on that if you search.

I should have added that. My truck is a 2024 with the power up and down standard tailgate. It is not the MultiFlex version. I’m currently using the Anderson Alumistinger 4” drop ball mount from my previous Silverado LTZ Z71 and the trailer nose is a touch high hitched up to the same utility trailer. Since the ZR2 has a 2” lift over standard height, I’m thinking a 6” drop would be idea.

The squat is real, but I expected that with the soft ZR2 suspension. The driving experience more than makes up for the difference in my opinion. I will look into adding air bags if I intend on pulling the enclosed trailer/toy hauler conversion later on. For now it’s mowing season and the 12 foot utility trailer is all that I’m towing. Thanks for the response!

I'm just gone say it.... I like the fact I can move the Balls to the back of the hitch so they are tucked out of the way... No chin pain/problems if ya stow it with the BW hitches. If weight is super important then check into weighsafe... but we all usually know what we are towing and what it weighs.

My truck is a 2500 HD with a 2.5 inch hitch so I have a 7inch Drop... 1500s with a standard 2 inch hitch have the choice of 2.5 or 4.5 inch drop... This info is for BW hitches.

I much prefer to purchase an adjustable ball mount that is made in the U.S.A. I have learned that Weigh Safe has moved production to China as of late.
