I just picked my truck up from the dealer that I'd brought in for the sole purpose of getting its 1st service (oil change, rotate tires, inspection etc.). I've had the truck 1 year. Zero issues until now. She only has 2500 miles on her. I know only 2500 miles didn't need oil changed etc. but expires if I didn't take it in and didn't want a warranty issue later because I didn't do 1st service after a year. They said lets do the 5 updates needed while we have it, 1-tailgate opening, 2-Lock remote start, 3-ECM OBD, 4-Serial data gateway module , 5-intermittent trailer brake loss. Me sure why not. Now 1/2 way home the dash shows engine light, reads"service emission system/175 miles until 65 MPH Max speed". I call the dealer who says no idea, we are sure its just coincident ??? All our techs went home already. I'll be there at opening tomorrow. I do love this truck and I am venting more than anything. Anybody have this happen and if so what was the issue? She's the HD Bison Diesel 2024.

Same thing if you don't update your computer for a long time...They download all of them and it screws everything up. Not your fault...But dealer should have known this and gave it a good test drive.
Good point, they didn't put 1 mile on the odometer so not even a little test drive. I'm hoping its something small they can just clear.

Have you restarted it a few times?
When I would disconnect my battery my tail gate gave a dash fault code and wouldn't power up
3 times of starting and stopping and it was good.
Did it twice to me.
I stopped for fuel , turned off. Shortly there after the light/warning came on. Once home shut off and turned on once as a hail Mary. Remained the same. That said I certainly will give it a few more tries. You know that it will likely go away as soon as I get back to the dealer...

Didn't work. I started and shut off and cycled through the gear selector several times, no change. I did also notice a couple more things. One it wont toggle through anything on the screen and it show 343 miles to empty. I literally just filled it up so that seems a bit low for a full tank not moving.

I feel your pain. I took mine in for the trailer brake recall. Couple other things popped up including a infotainment update. They did them and my radio hasn't worked right since. It's gotten better. But still ain't like it was. I had Zero problems before the "FIX". Kind of annoying. But I have 12k miles😅

I've had all those done and they seemed to work. I had a shit load of codes show up on mine in the first 3k miles and everytime I went in it was no problem, shrug, just quirky software. I had that same emissions message popping up. Nothing wrong, it went away. Also had that message popping up twice when I only had a couple gallons of DEF fluid left. I thought maybe the float level was sticking or sensor was bad, cause it shouldn't happen until your sub 1 gallon.

Remember, this forum is filled with electronics, software, hardware, infotainment problems across all years and all makes. They are great trucks with bad electronics and software.

Hold down the call button on the steering wheel for a soft reboot. Use an OBD II dongle to read and clear codes. If your driving a GM truck that is 22+ you should have one in your rig. They are $50-80 on Amazon. They all work the same.

I have an OBD II reader, sort of. My buddy has it, time to get it back. This is my 4th Chevy truck and 2nd Duramax. Love every one more than the one before. Haven't had major problems with any of them. They'll or I'll get it figured out on short order in sure. Heck sounds like just a glitch anyhow

I've run two 1600 mile trips with variable "issues" one towing heavy. I made it just fine, so I don't sweat it much. That DEF message pissed me off tho, cause it came on shortly after I had dumped in another 2.5 gallon jug. I started to think.it was gonna limp me after the second time, but bit didn't. Haven't seen it since.

Also, I did my first oil change at 1000 miles to get rid of the break in mess. I've never run more than about 1500 miles on a new rig before oil change. It would be 2 to 4 hours on my bikes, depending upon the motor.

Egr valve module didn't self learn after the update. They are re programing it as we speak. This time their going to test drive. Fingers crossed in and out of the dealer in about 45 minutes.
